Sure, but that's really a bit different from warranty. You had no way of knowing that you should get it done ASAP and will be reimbursed, at the time when you had to make that decision.
I don't see how the court can approve the 10 year rule on a class of cars that includes many individual cars that are already more than 10 years old. That is just adding insult to injury. It really rubs me the wrong way.

+1. I think MBUSA is going to announce this issue as an extended warranty coverage, not a recall. Will only celebrate when my car is good to go to drop it off to any authorized dealers for repair under this extended warranty coverage hehe

This is a good news for my friend. I think his car is in the affected engine. I didn't read the whole settlement yet. My question is, if he bring his car to the dealer and the car is not acting up yet with the sprocket issue, are they going to just replace it? Anyway, I will contact the local dealer and get their side. Thank you for the info.
