Unhappy creaking noises

hey all,
this morning when i went out to do some errands, coming out of the garage while turning the wheel emitted this "creaking" noise like when you open a squeeky door really slowly.

I was like, wtf. So I drove around the neighborhood trying to figure out whats wrong. Going over bumps gets me the creaking noise, turning onto streets gets loud (people were staring at my car and wondering what the hell is that).

I cut the wheel all the way to one side and then to the other side and back. The creaking noise went a way for a min but then came back again.

I tried going down the driveway slowly, flicking the steering wheel one side to another like a slalom (sp???) test. You can hear the creaking. What is that? I tried looking underneath the car, but nothing.

I'm including a video ()...right click and save. May have to turn your speakers up a little and then listen for the creaking in the background.

Thanks guys!

Creaking (right click and save)

I'll check...do you think also possibly it may be the shocks? I haven't changed them before for the life of the car...

I've had the lower control arms and bushings replaced out before...so I don't think that's them.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
i dont think it is the shocks... when is the last time you replaced the control arms and bushings?

the creaking noise...i would say that i think you should seriously consider the stabilizer bushing. pushdown on the car from top of the fender...can it be replicated?

I have the same problem that started yesterday AM. I'm going to check the PS fluid this morning. Is your noise on the left front only? I took the wheel off and all seems tight. Ball joing no play and shock seems ok. I was leaning towards the shock top bushing?? Will not replicate noise when car is on jack stands, only under pressure from the weight of the car.

Check the front sway bar mount brackets, they have a tendency to crack with age (the metal bracket).

May not have cracked through yet, just starting, so check it carefully

That's my vote. I changed my ball joints at 70,000 miles for creaking popping noise when going over bumps.
