Mechanic in Orlando, FL area

Hi,

Not sure if I posted in the right section.
But anyone has a good mechanic in Orlando, FL area? (Other than Mercedes dealerships)

It's for my 2017 C300

Thank you

Last August, I had a Service B done at JSI European Specialist and was quite satisfied with the experience. They weren't cheap, but they were cheaper than the dealer. The facility was immaculate and the employees in the lobby were pleasant and professional. I took the guy out to my car, showed him the interior (Silk Beige, which still looks showroom new), and told him that the dealer usually returned it to me with black marks on the door cards, door sills, mats, etc., and that I would like them to keep it clean. He said they would take care of it, and true to his word, it came back looking exactly as it had when I dropped it off.

Check the website www.benzshops.com for a listing of indys by zip code. Always good to find one before you need one.

Thank you for your replies!

I checked that benzshops website, which had JSI listed in it.
My God, what a huge difference from Mercedes dealers. These guys were all courteous and professionals.
Their quotes were much better than the dealer, and their reviews were all great!

I haven't chosen one yet, but I'll post about my results

Did you end up taking your car to JSI or did you find a better mechanic that has more reasonable estimate? I'm looking for a mechanic in Orlando too, and it's hard to find a decent one... Thanks in advance.

As I said earlier, JSI is not cheap, but they are cheaper than the dealer and the staff seems much more scrupulous and service-focused than the service staff at Mercedes-Benz of South Orlando. The service advisors at JSI are timely and clear in their communications, as opposed to those at the dealer, where weeks can go by (literally) without a word from them.

That said, I think it's always a good idea to avoid allowing car service personnel to assume that you know nothing about what's under the hood of your car. They can smell it, and most will be inclined to exploit any perceived ignorance. Talk to them as if you could do the work yourself, but don't have the time or equipment.

Yes, you are absolutely right, Mr. Toad. I do have experience with JSI, and as you pointed out, they are very professional. They are not the cheapest, but they are cheaper than the Mercedez Benz dealer. I do have a little bit different opinion about them being prompt with service or response though. But then again, that part is very subjective. I went in there with one specific issue at hand that I wanted to repair, but they didn't really provide me with a solution to the issue. Rather they gave me dozens of other parts that needed to be replaced or repaired. I'm sure most of them needed some attention, but it wasn't as pressing as the issue I went in there with. Hence my lukewarm reaction. My opinion is going to be very biased, of course. That's why I'm looking for another shop that is as professional as JSI, maybe a bit cheaper than JSI that can provide solution to my problem. I really appreciate your input.

I find it really surprising that so many people have a bad experience with their Mercedes dealerships. My local dealer has always treated me well and taken great care of my cars. They always come back washed and clean, even if it only to repair a tire that I bought through the dealership. (By the way, my dealership has very competitive prices on tires. Especially if I get another service like an alignment that they discount.) And if I need a loaner (for bigger jobs), I am provided a late model to drive for the day (I guess that comes out of their marketing budget.)

But....if I do need a costly job, I will check prices and then decide. I'm not looking for the cheapest price, just the best.

Customer treatment begins with the dealership's GM. I've had great experiences with the MB dealer in Chandler, AZ. Two other dealerships blew me off when I arrived for scheduled appointments to do recalls -- they couldn't be bothered (one was where I bought my G).
