Scan Tool Recommendation?

Looking for something that emulates Mercedes' SDS.
Have reached the diagnostic limits of my Autel MaxiSys MS906BT. Need to acquire something with greater diagnostic capabilities; reading fault codes alone is no longer sufficient.

Currently, Mercedes-Benz USA's cheapest diagnostic equipment offerings include a J2534 passthru with a one year software package for $3,922, + tax, and a Xentry Diagnosis 4 Scope for $7653. Otherwise, a XENTRY Diagnosis Kit 4, with a 4 year software subscription, is $30,282.

The Chinese clones are substantially cheaper but how do you intelligently shop for such an item? Anything out there that has proven to be effective and reliable?

Any recommendations of where to look and what to consider?

Look in the W164 forum and search for Benz Ninja. He will fit you out and has nothing but compliments from other members.

GL550 / AMG GTS
He's the real deal

I already posted praise for him but wanted to reiterate one more time that he saved me for the 2nd or 3rd time yesterday in a very complicated AMG GTS problem. Didn't charge me a penny and when I asked how much I owed he said don't worry about it that's just what he does. He was available on virtually no notice and it worked out perfect. This is the best Mercedes solution I have ever seen.

I literally asked him for his PayPal info so I could send him money....that's how good he is.
