Since pre-2019 vehicles are not OTA update capable and are on the old mBrace platform, they wouldn't show up anywhere for a 2018. But for us with Mercedes me connect, they show up on the web portal where they can be downloaded manually, or eventually the home region gets automatically pushed to the car via OTA update.

Do they keep making new map versions for pre-2019s? For NTG5.5 for pre-2019 the latest map version is V28, do we know if they will release a V29 and V30 and so on?

No idea. Since the free updates for pre-2019s have long expired, I don't know how much of a market there is for MB to continue to offer paid updates.

Same in the US. NTG5.5 will continue to get map updates as the 2019+ models running NTG5.5 have online map update capabilities.

No, it will not work on Garmin systems. You can buy a new SD Card from AliExpress.
