Do you know which NTG each of your cars has? According to ChatGPT your E43 should be NTG 5.1 in your GLE should be NTG6. Do you know if that is correct?

Actually according to my build sheet (Data card) I have option code "531" which is NTG5/NTG5.5 for the 2017 E43 and it's same for the 2018 GLE400.
Both are Canadian vehicle and should be pretty much the same as an US model.

Chatgbt is always confused if you do tell him that is confused...E-class W212 can have 5s1, but only W213 can be E43 - so w213 with 531 is NTG5.5
GLE, depending of MY could be NTG5s1 or 6
@trigital, does the 2018 S65 have NTG 5 or 5.5? Some sources say 5, others 5.5. Even the build sheet says

Only VIN number can tell, as my experience withe US market is sometimes wrong especially about the MY ( Model Year) option. In US the MY is very different compared with the actual Model Year,,,,

Not a fuse issue,unfortunately. I have power going into the USB module in the arm rest, but COMAND / Xentry are not seeing the module or throwing any errors. Even replaced the module with a new one from MB. :/
How do I update the map for free.
1. Create a new Mercedes account (I have selected Germany country)
2. Remove the vehicle from the main account and add it to the new account (all digital extras will be preserved)
3. Buy an online map update digital extra (1 month free)
4. Go to My dashboard -> Manage your Digital Extras -> Online map update
4.1. Click Update the regions manual
4.2. Select completed map
4.3. Download the download manager
4.4. Click launch download manager (important. It syncs your credentials and car with the download manager)
5. Download the map to your usb device
6. Connect usb device to your car
7. The map update should be detected, and no licence key is needed.
8. Cancel subscription. Remove the car. Delete account. Add a car to your main account.

I have a 2024 GLC Coupé, which I believe corresponds to NTG7, currently running the Europe maps (version 11.0). I would like to change the region to Middle East/Africa (version 14.0).
I have just finished the update on my wife's 2018 GLE400 W166.
At first the USB ports inside the center console can not see my USB, try both ports didn't work.
Then I remember there is a SD card slot on the command and after I transferred the files to a SD card insert it the command prompt me for the key and it took about 45 mins or so to complete the update.

Thank you Trigital, I sured you know more than me. But just to clarify, according to the car registration and DATA card, my car is 2016 W212, SA Code 531 COMAND APS NTG5/NTG5.5. I was hoping I can update to the newest map. I am also researching the option for supporting Carplay and Androi Auto. This car obviously support this option, but Mercedes deactivated this option on my car, will need to activate/code and mutiple activation steps before can be used (coding by dealer can cost major $$$, if they agree to update/coding at all)

For your NTG5s1 the latest Maps are 2022 V17.
Mercedes didn't deactivated Carplay, more likely this option was not being paid when the car was ordered.
Depending on how you treat your dealership, they may update the NTG firmware for free,. This way activation of Carplay will be very easy

However, people discovered since this Comand was the same with the W207, which has this option available. Many were able to CONVINCED the dealers to update the Comands for them to a specific version (had to lied the bluetooth had issues). Since then Mercedes found out and had removed this specific firmware version from data base. Sure, make the USB stick first and if it will be compatible and and will ask for the code, I will give it to you.
None of the firmwares was deleted from Daimler servers...yet!
Anyway if you are brave enough to update yourself the firmware a 10$ cable from AliExpress and a decent Windows 11 laptop will do the job....I can help for free.
