dead CD changer clicking

A couple of months ago I snagged a 2015 S550. For inspection I created a long checklist of features to check and ensure functionality. The only item that did not work was the CD changer. I pointed the issue out to the dealer and got some more off the price. I have no need of the changer so I have no intention to get it fixed. However it makes some clicking sounds for a minute or so when one wakes the car up. The clicking then stops until the next time. I have seen others in the forums with the same issue, I got to wondering:

Might it be possible to have xentry scanner tell the car that it has no CD changer and thus possible kill the clicking?

Is it individually fused? If not, there's likely a cable that could be disconnected to cut its power.

Thanks for the suggestions.
From looking at the fuse listings I think it does not enjoy its own fuse. It is part of the big control assembly. A video suggests one has to do significant console and dash disassembly to get at the control unit. Even then, don't know for sure, I doubt the changer has its own cable.

Maybe try inserting a blank CD into it?

I should have mentioned -- it will neither accept or eject CDs. The CD opening seems blocked maybe with a CD or the mechanism.

My CD-Changer does that as well since new. It's part of the init self-test .... you know like when you power cycle a Laser PRINTER : it rolls every drum searching for a jam.

How long does yours do that init? Mine goes on for over a minute.
Also mine will neither accept or eject any CDs that might be lurking within. The CD opening seems blocked maybe with a CD or the mechanism.

I had a separate CD changer in my 2004 SL500. It was the type where you loaded six CDs in a cassette. It was stuck when I bought the car from a coworker. I searched and found a UK Mercedes forum where someone said to "smack it sharply" with the butt of a hammer (or other such tool) while pressing the eject button. I did and the cassette popped out. It had some old disco CDs, which I think was the problem.

It sounds like your CD changer is in-dash, so I would be careful about smacking it. But you could try tapping it with a rubber mallet (so a not to mar your dash) while pressing eject.

Was there any evidence of permanent damage to the amplifier or speakers? (lol)

These headunits are built to fail like clockwork... yours was just early.
Optical compact disk mecanism are ultra sensitive to dust...

No physical damage, but the car had extreme emotional issues. I think the therapist called it "PTSD".

I'm reminded of a TV commercial where a 3 year old was spooning his oatmeal into the cartridge slot of a VCR player (yes, it was a long time ago).
