Gremlin of the day- intermittent lamp malfunction, but it works fine, W209

Should I change the bulb anyway, or is that a waste of time? Any thoughts on what it could be?
Thank you,

Is this harness flexing during trunk opening by any chance??
The Rear-SAM module poor connections may be acting up.
Can you reproduce fault using your scanner test functions?

I was going to take the bulb out and clean the ends and connections.
It's just strange because it pops up, I get out and check and the light is perfectly illuminated. And then sometimes it does not show any malfunctions.
Thank you, I will poke around there tomorrow in the light of day.

SAM replaced with a different unit... used/new?
This current issue is likely the aftermath of that earlier battle.
Let's understand what happened BEFORE to plan what to do AFTER...
✌️
Don't tinker with the bulbs just now or shop will say YOU messed them up... for an extra $500 billing

I guess I should pay them a visit again.

Let them finish their fine surgery job.
This can be caused by a "simple" programming issue and take north of 4 hours to locate the correct config file...

It turns out the computer is smarter than we thought and was trying to warn me about a sick light, soon to die.
I changed it this morning. The old one below is clearly toast.
Burned out bulb up top, new one from Mercedes dealer in plastic below.
