Hi folks, thank you for a great forum. I've already gotten help/solutions a couple of times. Now, my Aircon smells "sour". I bought the car second hand, and the car stood still for abt 1 year prior me buying. I have changed both airfilters - the one in engine bay as well as the one under glove compartment. But smell is still there when sunroof or windows are open - like the sour air is sucked in to the cabin when roof or windows are open. Any bright solutions?

@W205C43PFL Thank you again! I note some threads mention Ozone may damage the plastic and/or leather and/or foam of the indside of the cabin, is that true and to be avoided or exagerated?

You're welcome : ) it is not without truth, as ozone is an oxidant I would proceed with caution however detailers been using ozone for a while and never really had issues.Originally Posted by Harritso

For reference, detailers also use it for up to 90 minutes. I guess if you are very worried, start with a short duration.
@W205C43PFL I'll try a 30 minute run and see if it works. Thanks a lot

How did it turn out?
@W205C43PFL Thanks follow up. I did it last night for approx 15 minutes with "re-circulation" on, to get the Ozon into system. Seems ok so far. Perhaps I will do another round of approx 30 minutes to get rid of a bit more. Thank you again for the tip. Wish everybody a great weekend ahead
