350 SDL
1991 350 SDL Turbo Diesel Black with Tan Leather $8100

For sale is my very nice Turbo Diesel.

It is currently on ebay #140311907557. The reserve price is quite lower than the buy-it-now price.

The car is really nice - not perfect - but definitely a head turner. The interior is in really nice condition.

It has the upgraded head (#17) and runs just great w/227k miles.

The car is located just outside of Toledo, OH or about an hour away from Detroit airport.

Thanks,
Paul.

ones too fast according to CHP!
Guys, not cool to attack a guy for trying to sell his car. If you don't like his price, don't buy it. The FREE MARKET will set the price, and if he is too high it will not sell.

thanks
Brad

Mercedes Benz
While his price is high and the 350 motor is known to be extremely weak, I do think someone may be willing to pay maybe 6k for his car.

I know a guy who says he sold his 300CD 1983 for 8k and it had 514k miles. Thats right. Half a million miles on the ORIGINAL motor.

I thought he was nuts for asking it but he claims he got full asking for the car.

Pure and finely strained BS.

There's another SDL up in NH that's been for sale for over a year. Asking price? $3000. And its got the good 3L motor.

To sell mine, I'd have to get all my money back. I've got more than that into it.

Therefore, if you need to recoup your initial $3,000 plus what you have put on it it makes sense that these cars cannot run in the $3,000-$4,000 range. This is not a matter of argument, just straight math. Usually to put such a car in tip top shape or very nice cond requires an investment of many hour and parts and/or cash. About ($2,000). If you find a decent example for 4-5K plus the above mentioned 2K it puts the prospect car around 6-7K territory.

LOL. Backwards *** math... Must have something to sell...

The BUYER determines the market, not the seller. I don't NEED to sell my car, which is why I CAN holdout. Anyone needing to sell will be lucky to get $3000 for one of these at this point. Not nearly as popular as they used to be, most need at least $2000 worth of work, smell bad, noisy, and mpg is just so-so. At least compared to other cars in the $4K-$6K range. With gas cars COMMONLY going into the 300K mile range withoout a rebuild and regular gas being priced where its at right now, there's no one in their right mind buying these for $5K+.

They could be noisy and all that, but I differ on the so-so MPG. Every time I tell onlookers at the pump asking me what's the MPG and I say 28-29 combined all the time, they look at me with deer eyes saying "that's damn good". For such a big car, that's small car turf. The fact that their diesel engine could run one million miles (300 SDL's will) is just icing on the cake. I will not sell mine for double the amount Paul is asking. If I could go back to 1987 and buy my car new it would had save me 5 or 6 cars in 22 years. This is in addition to elegance, safety, and prestige. But most people don't think about this when shopping for a car. Let me tell you, I love fast cars and had own my share, but these cars are work horses which could be driven day-in day-out over long distances for decades. Just my 2 cents!!!

"Paul" won't get his asking price. He doesn't have one ounce of documentation on that car, or repair history. When he first started advertising it, his big line was how well the car was cared for. That was untill I asked him for documentation. The next ad, all the "well cared for" BS was dropped and its been that way ever since. Perhpas he'd get $2000 for it, but its a time bomb in my opinion. That's why I drove out to the western part of the state instead of up there to look at it.

No more interior room than a Toyota Camry or the equivalent. Worse gas mileage to boot.

No one keeps their vehicle that long in this country. Just the plain and simple facts.

Camry's are medium size, and the last time I check S classes belong to large size category. MPG wise, are we talking about gas or diesel? On another topic, when I register mine not long ago in TX, it is valued in their books (DMV) at $5,500. Ur coments make no sense, specially when not willing to sell at the price you say it should be. But never mind; Have a nice day!!!

Large in 1987 probably mid sized "L" series (think Hyundai XGL) sedan now. Sorta like Chevelles and the like were mid sized back in the day, now they're considered huge. Every redesign now-a-days engineers seem to find more interior room in the same basic package.

Diesel SDL, to today's gas, of course.

Dude thinks its still 2004. If he looked on e-bay for 30 minutes before he posted this ad, he wouldn't have embarassed himself like this.
