Fair Price for 2006 E55 w/ 33K Miles

Hello to all. I hope everybody had a nice Thanksgiving. It looks like my wife and I are moving back to NY and I am not going to take my 06 E55 or my 03 M5. I am posting to see what your guys opinion is as to the private party value of my 2006 E55. Details as follows:

33,xxx Miles
Silver Ext / Charcoal Int
Pano
Dynamic / Vent Seats
Keyless Go
Electric Rear Sunshade
SIRIUS
Factory warranty until Feb 2010
No parktronic, distronic.

I am the 3rd owner. Car is in very good shape. Tires are Toyo T1R's. Fronts just installed today, brand new. Rears installed approx 3K miles ago. Hood was repainted due to fender bender by prior owner. I had them repaint the hood when I purchased the car in July 2008 as I didn't like the way it looked.

Not looking for a long debate. Just some opinions as to value. Not a fire sale but if I sell privately (which I'm not sure I can deal with all the BS tire kickers) I want to be priced properly.

Thanks guys.

A 33k 06 with pano is gonna bring more then $28k. Especially one with warranty left. I think you may be wishful thinking and possibly looking for a good deal yourself. LOL You should not comment if you are totally clueless to values. Here is a little sample for ya!

MMR numbers from Manheim for 06 E55 within the last month, please pay close attention to the two with mileage in the 30s like his that sold for $33820 and $31500. Plus his has pano which is rare, his car is a mid low to mid 30s car.

I call BS on the mid 30 E63 unless it had 100k on it and if it was low miles and not a unibody or salvage car, you missed out on the deal of a life time.

Yeah, agreed on the E63....

but disagree on the E55 thing. There are plenty of these cars in the marketplace, and though we love them, they just don't have much interest to most folks. Most dealers are having a hard time getting people to open the door on them. Yes, warranty helps. But I still think that car has a 2 in it wholesale, maybe a low, low 3 retail. Just my .02, which is what it's worth.

Dont let uneducated people deter you. You have a nice rare 06. They made the least numbers in 06 and yours is loaded with good mileage and warranty. There are alot of serious buyers that come here looking. Post your price and ignor the W210 buyers trying to steal a W211!

Car free at the moment
I just paid $33,250 for a 33K mile 2006. Private party sale in Dallas. Car is CPO, has warranty until late 2011. Clean title, no accidents, pristine condition, up to date on service, etc. No options, it's a complete stripper.

IMHO this car is worth more than yours - 2 years of warranty is more valuable than any options. Others probably disagree.

The seller had the car listed at $38K for several weeks with no takers. There's a bunch of ~35K mile 2006 cars for sale in Dallas in the $37-$39K range. They haven't sold in a couple of months, so that isn't the right price.

My $.02.

Plus like one million...

The sub $30k O6 with less than 50k and at least a few months of warranty does not exist anymore - unless it has issues or 0 options. Even then it seems, in my experience, they are still over $30k

The more I look the more I am convinced that, for an O6 with a few key options (Nav/keyless/dynamic), less than 50k miles, in clean condition with a solid carfax you need to spend at least $33k- and most are listed higher.

That said if you have a wholesale offer for 30k, jump on it...lol.

Good luck!

I agree with Worth...

I would take the 3 number and run. So, so tough to deal with end users at this point. Financing, attitudes, etc. That's a great number wholesale, so I'd move along too.

Half of the MMR numbers don't mean squat for retail sales values, especially on Mercedes or BMW. Many of the top numbers are sales to exporters since a $30K Mercedes here can bring $60K in some overseas markets. I have an '07 E350 Sport with 25,000 miles and the MMR tops at $31K for this car. I can't get a retail buyer to look at it for even $30K.

You must be asking too much. If you think his 55 is in the 20s your car is worth in the teens. LOL Good luck with the sale!

MMR is what dealers use! It is obvious you do not have a clue on the value of cars or how MMR works. What you meant to say is you do not know squat. Three or four posters already said the car is worth @$32000 which is 5 grand more then your low ball uneducated guess. Just because you have an undesireable E350 don't come here and throw BS numbers out in the classifieds.

MMR is just a tool....

just like Black Book or Carfax or any other info. Nice cars will always bring more, average cars will usually bring less. Don't forget that cars that are in the MB Credit lane will often do way more than the market, as MB dealers can put them on thier floor and it's easier. But usually, they are also not as nice (at least in my area they aren't). There's always a balancing act between retail /wholesale, time/money, and your desire to ride/get out. If you want to fish for more money, it's your prerogative. Good luck.

over $30k

Idiots are not buying these cars at these prices...I see yuppies buying IS350's and GS430's and G37's for more....why? I have no ****ing clue....hell a ISF is still selling for low $40's retail??? U must be kidding me....taking one of those over a 55 or 63 ...no way... I too watch the manheim and many other auctions daily....and I will say that a great car in a great part of the USA will bring top dollar all day long...I was offered a E63 pano mint...silver black..wow...every option period...70k miles though....I could buy this car for $34k....a friend of mine just bought a 54k mile S65 2006 for less then $35k the other day...private sale ....deals are out there but very very hard to find....in reality I say your car is worth much more then some people here say ....for $32k..a nice payment will be $550??? come on that is a lease payment on a G37 loaded...and there is no comparison....

I knew this thread was going to turn into a mess.

As to the above, for 25K I will drive it off a cliff and keep making the payments. No *** way I'm letting someone have my low mileage E55 for 25K.

I AM a dealer and I DO use MMR all the time. Three or four posters can SAY the car is worth $32000 all day long, they aren't the one buying it. The fact is there are 400 to 500 E-class cars of all types coming off lease every week flooding the market. Simple ECON101 says the prices are going down. OP asked for an opinion of the value of the car, I gave mine. If YOU think it's worth so much more, why don't you pay him that much.
