Think you need to look at this and where the real price point would be, then lower another 3 -4% to give some incentive. Even though it only has 2k miles on it, it has still been titled. Serious buyers know a car can be beat a lot, even in just 2k miles. And a dealership would absolutley hose you on atrade-in.

If you were in the high 30's, very low 40's you may get some hits. Sorry to say.

I think his price is in line with what you could negotiate the same used car at the dealer, but he offers the advantage (to an Arizona buyer) that they won't have to pay sales tax buying directly from him. That's about a $4,000 savings to an AZ buyer. And he does say OBO, and he does have time to find the right buyer. I'm sure he'll put it in storage for a year before he takes a 10 grand hit on it.

Yes thats true I would rather put it in storage than take a 10k hit. I am also willing to pay for covered shipping to new buyers location. I am just trying to work anything I can because I am leaving soon.

No flame, but .....

Its a used car. Driving it off a stealer lot usually means 20 - 25% of MSRP. You are at ~10%, which is invoice + incentives. This is regardless of how your state treats ST.

On top of that it appears the car is no longer stock. That also can have an effect on potential buyers.

I drive a 2013 ML350
I just bought one back from a customer of mine who lost his job, same package, with only 500 miles on it, and I paid $44,000. I sold it for $47,000 Certified to 100,000 miles. These late model cars have to be a significant better deal than buying a new one, and you can save $5000 on one now if you hunt, and get the low rates. My 2 cents.

If stock is what someone wants that will not be an issue with the ECU. It can be taken back to stock at anytime but the Rentech ECU is nice.

Are you sure about that? In TX, you can no longer name the price that you paid for a car. They will determine a reasonable sale price, and calculate the tax from it.

How long will you be putting in storage for? You may really want to reconsider doing that given the rate that it will be depreciating while you are gone.

I will be deploying overseas for 12 months. I would rather sale it and I know I am going to take a hit on it but a 10k hit might be to much. Since I am asking 49k OBO and paying for covered shipping anywhere in the lower 48 I could take a lower offer without shipping.

Just an FYI... I just purchased a demo from the dealership with 4k miles with the same options as you. I paid 45k and they threw in brand new blizzaks..... Good luck with your sale and good luck with your deployment!

Yes, I am POSITIVE about that. As an ARIZONA buyer, if you buy directly from a PRIVATE seller (even if the seller is out-of-state... assuming sales tax was paid when the car was bought new) you do not pay sales tax on a used vehicle.

You do however get butt-f%^&ed on the plates (VLT tax).

That's exactly how it should be; otherwise, we'd be paying double, tripple, etc taxes. TX should copy from AZ on this one.

If this was in the 30's, it would be in my driveway right now.. I think it will be a while before we see them in the 30's

So if you had same package as mine and you paid 45K for it then I wonder if 46K would be a good price that could move it since it has 1k less miles.

You should be able to move it at 46k... but I am sure if you ask 46k, someone is going to try to squeeze more money from you since the asking price is 46k... i think 46k is a great deal for your car!

your mom
First, Good luck with the sale.

Second, depreciation is the real problem. The car dropped 10%, the day you drove off the lot. I say 10%, while u'll realize closer to 20 - 25% when u try to resell it ( if to the dealer)

Third. Assuming u bought for 54.5K (asssuming) and the car is worth 44K now. You have taken the most significant hit already. So if u sell it today or sometime later.. the depreciation will be same.

I think a low 40s...will move ur car.

Well the car is sold. The dealer I bought it from bought it back for 43.5K little under what I was looking for but it was very quick and painless.
