if it's too good to be true then it probably is... If you check out the other listings then you'll release this posting is not inline with Market value. It is approx. half what everyone else is selling theirs for. Either it is a salvaged vehicle, or it is someone who wants you to deposit a down payment in an escrow account and they'll ship the car to you. wink wink.

Could be a scorned wife selling her soon to be ex-husbands baby. We've all heard the story of the wife selling her hubbies Ferarri for $50. Either way something stinks here!

I wrote him and got this:
New kind of scam? Check out through google?
The carfax he attached shows the car is from AZ...
Hello Byron,
The car is still for sale. The asking price is $47,690. It is located in Wallkill, NY and the VIN is WDBTJ77H98F242923 . The car is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). It is in great condition, no dents or scratches. It was always garaged and the regular maintenance was done in time. It wasn't involved in any accident and has never suffered any kind of damage. Also this is a non-smoker car. I've attached photos and the carfax report. If you have any questions regarding the car just let me know!
I had a buyer offering $49,500 and I've lost about 2 weeks waiting for him to pay just to find out in the end that his loan wasn't approved. I've lowered the price because I'm in desperate need of cash it's either the car or the house so if you don't need a loan you can have it.
I'm currently signed up for a protection program offered by Google Checkout and I would like to close the deal through them. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test drive and inspect the car before paying me. You will have a 7-day inspection period to decide whether you want to keep the car or not before they release the funds to me.
If you are still interested and have cash just send me your Google id (www.GoogleCheckout.com) and I'll ask them to fill you in with the transaction details.
I don't want to offend you, but the car is priced for a fast sale so please if you intend to apply for a loan or financing do not reply to this message!
Look forward hearing from you.

Scam alert. I have come across very similar wording, usually it's using an Ebay or Yahoo car escrow. Never buy anything site unseen and without some assurance that title will be transferred, meaning there is no lien against title transfer. If you have to buy something else where, have some reference who is local to seller go and check out the vehicle and the legitimacy of the product.

Came across the following thread discussing this scam.
http://phoneowner.info/Number.aspx/2062012667/2
.......Exact same experience on my end with a BMW 335i. I emailed him back last night telling him that I will only give him the $ in person after he sends me many detailed pictures and provides and explanation of why the CarFax Report shows that the car was already sold in February. I will only give cash when I have test driven the car and he has the title papers for me. I wonder if he will write back to me.
I reported the listing on Autotrader as a scam and we will see if they get back to me. Thanks for the warnings. Be careful out there guys.

It is certainly a scam but $50k is not far from trade in....
and $50k is what you will be able to pick up one for in the winter for sure
They are great cars but I think a lot of guys are trading them in for other things....

As unbelievable as it may sound this scam is rather profitable, as the site below has testimonials of victims that have gotten snarled in this individual's trap. I say unbelievable because there is no way one should make a car purchase site unseen and from a vendor you don't have a trust relationship with, e.g Amazon.com, not AmazonCars.com. These 2 domains are not the same. Just too many unknowns. How do you know the car has an engine? If it does, how do you know if it is running or not? Only way to know these things is if you are physically present.

I got a call from my local police department today. They were referred to the local PD by the FBI. Basically I sent the FBI the information I scraped from the email properties which contained his IP address etc. They traced that information to a server in Slovenia. The detective asked if I was out any money (which I wasn't). He indicated if I was they would take a full report on it however the bigger problem was this crime would be taking place out of the country where there is an issue with being able to arrest someone. The officer was nice and I appreciated that they did follow up and did investigate the matter. For everyone who was unfortunately victimized please contact the FBI via the site mentioned in earlier emails. If you could right click and select "properties or message options" on the emails you get from the fraudster make sure to highlight and copy the entire field of data. Paste that info into your submission to the FBI. This will capture much of the original IP address and can help them investigate/action your information. They may get enough data from everyone that they can get closer to building a larger case with more help. Good luck.
By the way..found another truck that is much better than the one I was going to buy from this scum. Spent $10K more but felt 10 times better about it.

It is a scam. I called about a 600 and the same wording was used. He will mail you with the"correct" VIN number which belongs to another car (legitimately for sale) on eBay motors. I got the story that he is a lawyer working in Washington DC and couldnt fly back for the test drive but it is "OK" because the Autotrader escrow makes sure that he doesnt get the money until the car is picked up and agreed to be fine. Run dont walk but do report this to Autotrader. In my case, they pulled the ad inside of 2 hours

It is scam. New one. Last year there were many as Ebay Escrows.
Found this on Search.
My husband and I were just scammed.... We were scammed out of thousands of dollars. I cannot believe Google has not done a thing to prevent this. There must be accountability for such blatant criminal behavior and Google does nothing. This is such a HUGE problem for Google.. Why do they not do more in protecting the consumer from such incredible fraud. I think there should be a law suit brought against Google for such poor management of their name and services. We are not talking about $10.00 jewelry items. We are talking about THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS and this has to be stopped. Please respond with your information if you have been scammed by a thief on a "Google" site. This must stop!!! And to answer the question, there is no such thing as a Google escrow account.
