2003 SL55 Black/Black For Sale - $37,950
Sorry, not sure how to upload my images, but the car is on autotrader with several images and can be seen here:

Thanks for looking.
As a newbie, am I close to being in the right price range at a little under $38k? I don't want to waste anyone's time or mine by not pricing properly.
Thanks in advance.
My opinion, real money is around $32k..
Check with tradein.autotrader.com, Nadaguides.com, edmunds.com, kbb, etc...there are a ton of them. One problem with an 03 is that most banks will not finance, and if they do it won't go over 36 months...
Does the car have keyless go/pushbutton start on the shifter? How long have you owned it? 2nd/3rd owner? Clean/clear title?

Thanks for the input though.
You are wrong dude. You are quoting wholesale numbers on 03 SL55's
I have access to the manheim auctions site and 03's SL55's with 40k miles are going for 31-33k. The dealer then needs to pay $500 to the auction house.
The real number is around 35-36k retail for a no accident clean carfax car.
I'm sick of low ballers trying to us NADA and Blue book numbers to steal these cars and take advantage of people not in the know.
Nada and Kelly mean squat on rare cars like these.

Retail is one thing, wholesale is another. When someone asks what a vehicle is worth, it's so subjective you can easily have a $5-10k spread.
To the right buyer, it may be worth $50k....but realistically, for an 03, the money is $32-34k. If OP has had it listed for $38k for a month with very few leads, he's wasting his time. Autotrader should show you how many people have "looked" at your ad...if there is a big discrepancy in looks versus activity you know you're off the number.
Best of luck selling it-if it was a keyless go car I'd be a player for it...unfortunately thats a dealbreaker for me, but it does look like a gorgeous example.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Put it on Craigslist and eBay. They sell cars and are free (eBay only charges if someone buys it).
I'll just point out that convertibles sell better in summer, so you need to bear that in mind when deciding how long to wait and what to accept.
Great looking car.
One other thing--I may be wrong, but if my thinking is correct, the Keyless Go on 03's requires that stupid card. It's not like the later model cars. And that card is a pain to carry. I'd rather not have it.
That way your guaranteed not to forget your wallet at home.
To each is own, but I would HATE to have to carry a key around.
It's all relative and so is the price.
Thanks in advance.

ask what you think you deserve for the car but also let the buyers know that you would entertain offers. see what kind of response you get. if you don't get any response, then you know your number is too high. back off your price a little bit until you find a spot where you are getting real offers. then you can assess whats the most you are truly going to get in return for your vehicle.
Is someone like that an everyday buyer? Absolutely, not. But that doesn't mean there aren't a few out there.
There's someone out there, but it may take you a good long while to find him. Need to be prepared to sit during the winter. SL's have alwys been soft in the winter months. Good luck...
