Selling my 2003 C32 AMG.
Alright guys, my car is officially for sale. I’ve owned it for just over a year and have put a lot into it to make it a very solid car, unfortunately due to some plans I have, it has to go.
Mileage: 91,000
Color: Silver
Interior: Black leather with blue inserts
I’m asking $14,000. Already lower than blue book, before you even consider the service and maintenance I’ve had done on it in the past year
- B service Performed ($160)
- New front pads/rotors ($350)
- New Goodyear Eagle GT Tires ($600)
- New Chrome-style Key ($126)
- New Radiator (replaced Valeo with Behr after testing for glycol contamination isuse) ($400)
- New valve cover gaskets ($200)
- New thrust arm bushings ($170)
- New Fuel filter ($106)
- New crankshaft pulley and harmonic balancer ($600)
- New engine fan (broken by belt falling off) ($850)
- New front engine cover (star fell off) ($100)
- New windshield (rock cracked old one) ($0 thanks to State Farm)
- New foglights (cracked by road debris) ($0, State Farm again)
- Serviced transmission, replaced filter, fluid, and seals ($140)
- Replaced Coolant ($100)
- New Timing Chain Tensioner ($650)
- New Air Conditioning system installed after compressor failure ($2,200)
- Replaced engine wiring harness, rebuilt fuel injection computer ($2,700)
If you add all that up, plus some miscellaneous things I have done, you’re at $10,000 in repairs and service in the past year.
I believe the car was in a minor accident prior to my purchasing it. There was no frame damage, is no obvious damage on the car or impact on the way it drives. Carfax is clean. The wiring harness had been repaired poorly so I had the entire thing replaced, flown in from Germany.
I have had the engine and transmission checked extensively and have been assured they are rock solid (but I make no warranty here, just so we’re clear). Normal issues for the car such as engine oil blow-by, etc, but nothing unusual for the car.
I and my mechanics have been through this car with a FINE toothed comb. Things the car needs are as follows:
- New engine mounts (worn out) ($400)
- Replace driver’s side mirror (something wrong with self dimming feature, shown in picture) (go aftermarket here, not sure on price)
- New third brake light (approx $100)
- Some discoloration on the passenger seat, was there when I bought it, could be re-dyed easily by an auto interior shop (approx $50)
- Sunroof sometimes goes into safety mode where it thinks someone’s finger is in front of it, easily reprogrammed (immaterial)
- Underbody splash guards (approx $100)
- My mechanic says the collant sensor should be replaced as it malfunctioned a few times during service. Should be approx $100
- One of the caps on the headlight back fell off, should be cheap to replace
- One of the lower grilles by the driver foglight fell out (approx $100)
I wouldn’t be selling if I didn’t have some personal plans I need to fund. Below are some recent pics. Feel free to ask any questions.

Very nice car. Good luck with sale. I searched KBB and you seem to be in the ballpark. What are you looking to replace it with?

As you know, these cars are not cheap to maintain, although a good independent mechanic helps alot.
Good luck with the sale - nice looking C32!
