man you have some patience.I was in the same position looking for a BMW for my wife and couldn't find one with in my budget ($29,000) so i said screw it,paid $3000 more and found one of the prettiest and loaded CPO 07 530 with 18,000 miles in the entire US HAHAHA
The car even has Night Vision,Head-up dispaly, heated rear seats,HD radio and front /back parking sensors not to mention other options that every BMW comes with. The original sticker on this sucker was $64,000

hmmm maybe I'll go with the under-parents-name-but-im-the-primary-driver
also, the out of state tickets dont factor in to insurance, so technically I'm clean besides a failure to obey traffic signal (right on red at 3am in nyc)

todays the day, looking at an e55 in newark nj.... 37k miles theyre having a holiday deal for 27500 reduced from 29995, hopefully they give me a decent trade in price and I may be driving home with it! its black on black, has knockoff e63 wheels with a lip, flat badge and e63 spoiler. So im planning on talking it down because of those and visible rock chips from the pictures....
should I be suspicious of the past owner and low price?
Im excited.....I go to school on friday and will need to slap on winter tires tomorrow and tints haha because theres nowhere to go near school in nowhere PA

If the asking price is in mid 30's then yiou say god damn it they are out of their ****ing mind and if the asking price is in mid 20's then you are suspicious of the ower and the low price ![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
Remember you get what you pay for![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
BTW my CPO '06 is still avaiable if you are interested and you don't need to worry about my past or the asking price![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I am also in KY if that helps.

I get there and the car has a p0410 CEL Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction, cheap set of e63 look-alikes with a lip on bald tires, a horribly wavy painted e63 spoiler and a flat star badge. CHeap lights in the DTRLs and fogs. Otherwise, no dents beides under the front lip, and the car drove very well. They were asking 27500 as a holiday deal down from 29995, I told them I would give them 24.5-25 because of all of the issues, and I wasnt even sure if I wanted it because of the CEL code which involves taking apart parts of the engine/ sc to look at, or a reflash of the car's ecu. Either way, that, the cheap parts, and the additude of the head guy, made me turn away. Also the fact that they offered me below black book pricing on my trade-in. Im running out of e55s especially with warranties and may start seeing if there any e63s with warranties left. I will deff take another look at your car man where can I see it?

Honestly I can't find one that is worth it for the miles they have, maybe now isn't the right time to be looking for one? Either way, I'll see what pops up during the summer. For now, I'll keep my FX and just see what happens this summer. I'll still be lurking the site.

I am sure if you are patient enough ( like another couple of years) you will be able to find your dream car

If a certain car sells at dealer auction in the $23K-$26K range, that's because all else being equal (year, model, miles), the cars at the lower end of the price scale are lesser condition, lower optioned, not as nice color combo, etc. The cars at the upper end are better, and maybe also CA car since new, etc.
So of course people hire me to get them the $26K car for $23K.
![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Occasionally you can get a deal on a private party distress sale, but with the auction, there are no 'deals'. Cars 99.9% of the time get what they are worth. That does not mean a car you see at a dealer for $30K is a good car, it could be a lousy car just marked up a lot. But I sell at cost plus 5%, so on a cost basis, nicer cars always cost me more to buy than not-so-nice cars.
