For sale 2006 E55 Flint grey metallic, pano, 175k miles.
SOLD as of 08/23/17.
$11k in Raleigh/Durham, NC.
Car has 175k miles, and was driven to Atlanta and back this weekend plus California and back in June. Pics here:

Very reliable. Tires, all brakes and rotors new this year. New alternator, voltage regulator, double idler pulley, radiator, this year. Fuel cell and fuel pumps replaced under warranty by dealer last Christmas. I have all service records for the last two years from The Foreign Service, a Mercedes specialty shop here in Raleigh.
Kenwood headunit with Alpine amp driving original speakers. Streaming bluetooth and phone/iPod connectivity. (I still have the original head unit if you want to go back to stock.) Built in "stealth" Passport radar detector with laser shifting (!!). Pano sun roof.
Air suspension replaced by Strutmasters at their headquarters in Roxboro, NC. Great ride! Coast to coast, great handling and no worries about getting stranded by an air leak.
Wheels were redone plus the calipers were painted red this year:

Paint looks appropriate for a car with 175k miles.
The original owner worked for the Mercedes Dealer in Orange Park, Florida. Here is his ad from when he sold the car with 116k miles. You can see the original sticker ($91k) and the Passport radar detector in this ad:

Okay, I admit my phone hyper-colorized that first one...

I traded this in for a CPO 2015 Lexus GS 350. They gave me $7k and we worked out some other percs on the purchase price and warranty.
Things I miss already:
A digital speed number in the center display. Now I have to learn to read a needle again.
Dynamic contouring. (First time I went into a hard curve and realized the seat bolster was not inflating!!)
All that power under my right foot...
Still, glad to have a modern quiet car with full warranty until 2021, and a seriously good air conditioning system!

I never expect to get FMV on a trade. The dealers can't exist if they don't make a profit. I have wasted so much time in the past trying to sell a Navigator and a Saab on Craigslist or AutoTrader for what I thought they were worth, only eventually to drop the price damned close to the last dealer offer. For me, this was a turn-key solution. If we were in California or somewhere there are many dedicated AMG enthusiasts, I might have tried something else.
As I wrote above, I got a factory warranty until 2021 and free service for the first two years. The first dealer (non-Lexus) offered me $4,800 and wouldn't budge.

it would be interesting to find out what the dealer will get for it when they resell, goes to auction or one of the employees at the dealership picked it up... for 7k I think I would have just kept it as a second car and dropped the insurance down to liability only. lexus makes some nice cars though -- enjoy the new ride

If you were in California, your trade in would be 3k after hard negotiations LOL. Or if you went to carmax in CA, $1000!
I know cause I tried to trade in with less than 100k on odo. Good replacement Lexus though.

Yep, you're right. I talked to a local broker who is an AMG guy himself (and a member on this forum) and he said that trade offer was the best I could expect in this market unless I went through a long private sale process to find the right buyer. Once he said that, I turned it in.

Well onward and upward. Hope you enjoy the Lexus, they're nice cars. I have a feeling you'll get back behind the wheel of a Benz though. It's taken me 10 years of go-fast and muscle cars to want one again but I'm back in that category...

Hot damn, I drove that AMG for two years, including round-trip coast-to-coast, and never got pulled over. Three weeks in this quiet sedate Lexus and this morning I got a performance award for 91 in a 70 mph zone.

Whereas when they see and E55 or similar, they take pity on you with the cost of ownership and let you slide....
