How many miles on your ML55
I also called the stealership to get the maintenance records and it dosent ever show it having a transmission service. The service manager even said if theres nothing wrong with it and it shifts fine (which it does) dont bother servicing it. I'm new to MB's... is this pretty accurate?
they dropped the pan, replaced gasket and tranny filter.
Hrmm, I should probably go through with it then. Since I'll probably do it myself, do you know where the filler tube is? I was told there wasnt a dipstick.

very satisfied. runs great and still pulls strong!
I love the car and plan on getting either another ML55 or maybe ML500 once this one becomes to expensive to fix any longer. I have never had a vehicle capable of what the ML55 does as a total package.
Power steering pump replaced:
A couple sets of shocks:
A/C recharged once:
Wiper motor replaced:
Small coolant leak: I just put in some stuff from Auto Zone for radiator repair and it has worked for 30K plus miles.
The remote locking has never worked:
The gas gauge has been intermittant since I got it. Once it gets to 3/4 tank it is fine. I always just hit the odometer button when I fill it.
Last winter I bought a set of Blizzaks w/ 17" wheels and it made a huge difference in the snow. I go back to the mono blocks w/ Pirelli Scorpions in the warm weather. I also bought an old Land Rover Disco to drive in bad weather.
All in all it has been a great truck. I would buy another (probably an ML500) if something happened to this one

I have a 2001 ML55 for sale - almost all service records and about 119,000 miles. It is a beast of a vehicle.
