CCB Upgrade rotor package for ML63

Following to the release of our World's first light weight two rotors we are pleased to announce the availability of Carbon Ceramic Brake Rotors for direct replacement of your ML63.

These rotors are made for a bolt-on direct replacement to your stock rotors, can retain the use of OE calipers (although calipers upgrade is recommended) and they are also interchangeable with RB calipers come with our complete caliper+rotor package:

See our coverage of CCM rotor replacement for Mercedes - This list will expand to include RB caliper for a complete brake kit.

So they won't work on a W166?

Rear is the same but the front is different from W164. But if you opt to include RB calipers then W164 and W166 is completely interchangeable.

Kit for W166 for OE caliper will be added.

Does the ABS unit have to be reprogrammed for the new rotors? I just had a friend upgrade his audi R8 from steel to CCB and he said the car would not brake properly at high speeds bc the ABS program would kick in way too much due to the more aggressive braking power.

Also, what about the carbon brake pads?? Do you made the carbon pads that match the rotors for our application?

That's the exact reason Amg studios said no to me for cf brakes on my w166 ml63

So I Went to Movit :-), for the front kit

We have not heard of CCB braking will affect the ABS at least from all the other kits we have built and sold.

We are having Corvette ZR1 track people testing the pads, will report the result when available.

Sounds good, keep me posted. ABS reprogramming is a concern to me. Finding tires grippy enough to handle the ceramics is a whole different issue too

I meant updates regarding the ZR1 track test for the carbon ceramic pads for the CCB rotors?

Rears developed for smaller w166 rear rotors? Also, what's the weight reduction for the smaller w166 rear size?

FYI, I am sure it was a typo but the fronts are identical between W164 & w166, it's the rears that are totally different sizes

It was referred to spindles between W164 and W166, the rear spindles are the same but the front has different offset.

For W166 we have front two piece and complete brake kits (front and rear), but no rear two piece made yet.

If W166 rear is smaller than W164, I doubt it can be made two piece because even W164 with 360mm rotor we just barely made it due to the large drum brake.

Our BBK for rear is 390mm for both W164 & W166 to match the front 390mm rotors.

Kits have been ready to ship.

We received an inquiry from an R63 (same as ML63) (W164) owner for developing CCM rotors because he has E63 with CCB option, and he likes it so much for the firmer pedal, better modulation and dust free braking than conventional iron brakes.

As we all know CCM rotors are only available as option for luxurious cars with high ticket pricing.

RacingBrake is dedicated to developing CCM brake (rotors and other components such as brake pads, calipers) available for those who want to enjoy this new carbon ceramic technology.

This customer intends to keep his OE caliper which we advised him that proper brake pads availability can be an issue for his investment.

We like to hear from other owners if this is something of interest to you.

Any updates on the W166?

I did the math and these on top of all the other unsprung mass reduction mods I performed will add up to an astonishing 135lbs!! I know they are massively overkill, but I have become addicted to reducing rotating unsprung mass, it is the #1 mod you can do to your car
