Hi all, I have a 2001 ML55 AMG and it was running fine then when i parked for an hour it started then when i put it in reverse it died and cranked but would not start. I have checked the voltage at the fuel pump in the tank and have 12V even when the ignition is off?? I also have a humming from the back of the engine when the ignition is on, Fuel pump has not made any noise.
Started the next day then after 5 secs it stuttered and died then back to cranking only.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome! Please post a photo of the ML.

What condition is the vehicle battery? Low battery often produces strange behavior. It's one item to rule out.

Try also positing the question in the section of the site specific to your vehicle, it will receive more visibility from a fellow owner.

Hi, Many thanks for your info. the battery is new and still not sure why i have 12V at pump even when fuse is pulled?? It is wet in the foot well and i know i have to remove the driver side wing and pull the sunroof pipe back through the inner wing.
