New owner to unique ML55

Found a deal of a lifetime on this ML55. After having a project ML55 just not work out due to personal reasons, I kept looking for a running one to take its place. I wanted either a black or green one that was decently taken care of and had relatively low miles. Everyone that came up for sale just wasn’t in my price range or didn’t have the qualities I was looking for. Some were too far and some were too poor in condition. All the good ones were purchased before I could even get a word with the seller. Not this time. I got an email notification that a listing had been recently put up for an ML55 that was not only close to me but it was literally everything I wanted. EVERYTHING. Designo edition with low miles that had a great history.

I contacted right away and it turns out I was the first to contact the seller. I cut to the chase. I let them know I was not going to waste their time with negotiating or point out flaws in the car. I paid asking price and was respectful to the seller as a show of gratitude that they allowed me the privilege to buy their car. I still can’t believe I own it now after wanting one for years. Patience pays off. Now I just have a Designo project ML55 if anyone is interested in buying whole. Comes with some extras but the motor is no good. Transmission is a big maybe. Two tone interior. Stock rims, needs bumpers and power dome hood. We can work something out but you gotta take the whole thing.

anyway, here is my new ML55 next to my faithful c32

Wow, looks great! What's the other ML55 you're looking to sell? I like the C32 as well. My second AMG was a '06 C55 and my brother still has his C32.

Thanks! My other 2001 ML55 is a Designo Bourbon ML55 with the two tone interior that needs a lot of work to get running. I plan on selling for around 800 firm because although it needs a lot it there is still a good amount of parts on it. I say all it needs is a motor, radiator, power steering pump, tires, bumpers and hood, and paint work. I mean it is a lot but it’s ready to be stripped for parts or rebuilt. It has a salvage title too but pink slip and paperwork in hand.

my C32 has been great just needs some work so it has been sitting for a couple weeks but I already have the parts. I just bought a floor jack and jack stands to change out the suspension. I would love a C55 because it’s a much newer car and the V8 makes it a sleeper (my 32 is a sleep too).

So why’d you get rid of the c55?

I'll trade my pics for yours!

I sold my C36 in order to go faster, hence the C55. Eventually that didn't work, needed more speed so I bought an E55. Life changed again, sold the W211 for an ML63.

wow two incredibly rare colors on that c55 and e55. I love the c36 and would def own one but now they’re priced the same as a c43/e55 so I would get the v8 first. I seriously can’t get over the e55’s color because it’s so different. How much did you end up selling them for? If a red c55 were to pop up near me at the right price I’d probably pick it up and sell the 32. In the meantime the only car I’m currently shopping for is an slk32 or a drop top clk55. It would be perfect for the California summers.

i hope one day to upgrade to an ml63. I especially love the brabus wheels on yours. I’m currently looking for some brabus wheels for my 55 to complement the quad tip brabus exhaust system I have.

Sold the C36 and some spare parts to a coworker for $3500, same as I paid for the car.
Sold the C55 to another local friend for $12k, I think. It's now his daily driver to keep his low-mile E55 pristine.
Sold the E55 to another local service member for $15k, and regretted it every day since.

What model Brabus wheels are you looking for, do you know? I had a set of monoblock IV's I ran on several of the cars, and they seem to pop up with some regularity.

3500 is a smoking deal for rev happy c36.I got the chance to drive one and could not believe how fun it was. I would choose it over a same year m3 (most would disagree with that sentiment). I hope your friend still has it because I saw a red c55 being parted out not too long ago by some fool who parted out their running and driving red c55 in NorCal. I was fuming because they are rare as is but a red one is very hard to find. Do you see yourself getting back into an e55? I want an e55 but if I were to have the money for one I would get the cls55 instead.

Yes those are the exact brabus wheels I want. Someone in SF is selling a set for like 600 but they're way too far from me at the moment to justify the drive

thank you again and I don’t think the car is wrapped. I actually don’t know how it was painted in matte but it’s falling off in some areas but nothing major.

I replied to your pm

thank you!!! Unfortunately I don’t have much info on the roof rack but I will tell you what I do know. This 55 was used as a camera car (check the photo below) and the seller welded together this roof rack to support a camera crane called “the Russian arm”. The roof rack is fully bolted onto the car. If you want more photos for a recreation, I could take some if you’d like.

ha I wish I could’ve seen the camera equipment in action. Those systems are over 20k I’ve read. The cables came in through a hole near the tail gate adjacent to gas cap side that the previous owner had to make to allow wires to pass through. It’s still got some leftover stuff inside that I’m tempted to swap out with the Ml55 Parts car that’s sitting in my driveway. Just bought a bunch of maintenance parts to give it a tuneup

The only thing I would modify/upgrade would be to install some Kleemann headers and a supercharger from Kleemann or HPS but it’s going to be a while till I get my hands on those. Aside from that, I currently have a Brabus quad exhaust system sitting in my living room collecting dust. It will be installed soon.

are you selling any mods?
