Just purchased 2003 c320 Sport Coupe. So rare, I don't know alot of people who know about it. Need good tips/upgrades as well as events to go to. Now am officially a VW and Benz head
I am hearing a rattling noise whenever i start my 2013 S550 after it's been sitting for a little while, it last for about less than a minute then it goes away. Has anyone experienced this and what was the issue
Been following the site for years, helped me with many (DIY) items. Many thanks to those that contribute.
Had a "new to me" 01 E430 took it from 100K to 230K miles, unwillingly retired "beyond economical repair"
Replaced it with a "new to me" 03 E500 starting with 93K miles.
Hi to all from Oz
Picked up my 2014 g wagon about 6 months ago.
I've done a couple of things to it.
Had cups installed on the springs to give it a 40mm (just under 2 inch) lift
Installed drawers in the back.
I've taken it off road a couple of times.
Yes, I actually take it out for what it's meant to do. Had a Range Rover sport before this and put it to the test as well.
The G absolutely killed it up against the full range of other 4wds in our group including land cruisers, hiluxes and fj's.
Cheers
I've been reading this forum for a while, I'm a driving enthusiast, and just recently got my first Benz... And then the second, and third, and forth... 😂
Looking for some feedback, newbie in Benz, but sort of experienced in cars in general.
I also own Toyotas, Honda, BMW, and a beloved Suzuki Jimny, as well as a SJ413. And I had a few other cars in the last 16 years as a driver. Happy to help, hope to find some help. 😉
Hey everyone,
Long time reader but a new member.
Recently purchased a CLS 550. Been loving it! wanted to share some pictures.
OEM wheels were too simple, so got some 20" Vossen VFS4 on them, through Butler Tire in Alpharetta, GA.
Hope to be a contributing member of this awesome community.
Hi guys! I bought my first MB a month ago. 1997 s320 and I love this car like crazy. Actually it sat in a garage for 2 years and I got it for a steal. I have fixed everything but have an AC issue I'll post in another tread , but isn't she lovely?
Hello and good day to all, I have some issues with my 97 E420. For any MB enthusiast, I'm looking for your advice. I swapped the engine in this car because the old one had a blown head gasket. Before I put the replacement engine in, I used my hands and twisted the reluctor ring clockwise (following my fathers poor advice) to see if the engine was "seized up". I then put the engine into the car, connected everything, fill up fluids yada yada, went to start the car and its idle ran extremely rough, but constant. If i tried to give it gas it would stumble over itself and shut off. This problem got worse. In efforts to start the car over and over, the starter ended up getting stuck in the on position (had to disconnect the battery to turn it off). So I bought a new starter and battery. Even though the battery is new I have a constant message on my dash saying "battery charge", don't know why. Continued trying to start the car but it got worse to the point where after I turned the ignition on it would hold an extremely rough idle accompanied by a bunch of less than pleasant noises for no more that 5 seconds and shut off. I changed all 8 spark plugs and realized my fuel was running rich because they all had more than noticeable carbon build up on the electrodes after trying to start the engine only a few times. I did some research and it seems I affected the ignition timing so severely that the car won't even idle though I don't know if thats the explanation for the problem. I have OBDII Scanner with a prominent malfunction code that reads "P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction". I already changed both the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. Can anyone advise me on how to either fix this code or set the correct ignition timing on my car, or if thats not the problem, give me pointers on what to do based on the little information that I'm able to provide? I am a novice and would very much like to learn as much as I can about how to work on Mercedes. Im 20yrs old and not only interested in getting my car running but also knowing how German cars are engineered as a whole.. I don’t want to go to a mechanic, this is my learning experience.
Hello! I'm the proud owner of a used 2011 E350 Bluetec. Other than throwing codes quite a bit since I procured this fine automobile from a neighbor, I love it! The latest code that I can't get to stop popping up is "P20be". I will search the forum for the proper section to post about this, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
