I'm Kay in Texas & I'm purchasing my first Mercedes. I placed my build order on November 4th and my dealer told me it's at stage C2 currently so I'm anxious waiting. I was hoping to receive it by Christmas but I guess it'll end up being a late Christmas gift.

Proud owner of new to me 97 E420 in Fresno, CA. Bought the car in Mar 2019 for hooptie money - $800. PO had it for 100k miles, now has 204k on the clock. Car had very few issues after sitting for 2 years, bad AC compressor, dead battery, a few bulbs,a few dry-rotted vacuum hoses, leaky fuel regulator, that's it. Clearcoat on the roof is going... but I already made a few mods and enjoy driving it everyday. Looking forward to learning many things here!

I work in the auto manufacturing industry and have been doing so for nearly 25 years. I have a love and passion for cars and making them faster, and a particular love for cars of the German persuasion. I also have an addiction for mid-engine cars. I purchased my first Mercedes (W215 CL55) a little over a year ago and I love it. Even when sitting still, it a beautiful car! The 500hp doesn’t hurt either... Thanks for having me. I drive my E220CDI Avantgarde station wagon since 2006. I bought it almost new after new facelift model came on market, for a very fair price. Now I clocked up almost 415.000 km (257.000 miles).
The cost of maintenance at MB dealer after 200k km became too high respect to it's value, so I started to maintain and service it my self. First I successfully solved issue with parking sensors. After forth visit of MB dealer workshop and 750€ spent on repair costs, on first junction after leaving MB workshop, parking sensor system went in error mode, again!?? Same day in my electronic workshop I diagnosed and successfully repaired system in only 30 minutes without no extra cost. It was really very simple repair. I can't believe that this task was to big for trained service personnel!? Reading the forums I see that same is all around the world, so I joined MBWorld forum to share my experience.
I believe that knowledge is multiplied by dividing!

Welcome to the forum. I live in France and I have a 2005 E320 CDI station wagon that we love, but we recently bought an R63 AMG, so we may be selling the E320, but they are great cars.
I purchased my first Mercedes earlier this month (2018 GLC 43). I did a lot of research prior and narrowed it down between the BMW X3 M40i and the GLC 43. I am definitely in love and still working on learning the ins and outs of the car. I look forward to contributing to this great forum.
