Welcome New Members
I'm Frank and we live in Whistler, BC. I recently wanted to change vehicles and found a 2010 MB GL350 Bluetec that only had 48,000 kms on the clock, very much in like-new condition, so I bought. We really do use our vehicles as "utility vehicles" so I rarely sparing for a new car owing to how I know it is going to be used. I have now owned the car for about three weeks and have already put 2,000 kms on it travelling up and down between Whistler and Vancouver. It has been very nice so far, though today after a short drive I found the main cooling fan staying on after I shut it down. I was outside and the temperature was just about 1C. When I drove it home it happened again and as I came into the garage it smelled hot, though the engine temp gauge was only reading about 90C, but it smelled hot and again the main fan stayed on for about 5 minutes. Coolant levels were okay and the coolant in the expansion tank was warm, sop definitely it was traveling through the engine. Today is the first day this has happened so I will probably call MB tomorrow. If it is overheating, not sure how I will get it to Vancouver. Rats! Anyway, here I am and I look forward to sharing experiences with my fellow MB owners.
Cheers to all,
Frank
No pictures (obviously) but I’m getting mine in polar white with the night package and matte black cross spoke wheels.
It’s going to be a long wait but well worth it in the end.
I will make a separate thread if you folks want to send some curious questions or have some trouble shooting done!
All the best,
Ed
My mechanic says to ignore it. What do you say?

Due to the cold my battery went dead, A passer by offer me a jump start hence i said ok, After 10 mins or so still no joy. I took out the battery and connect it to a battery charger, 7 hours latter battery fully charged. Now when turning the key in the ignition switch, I'm getting Start Error on the dashboard. The key remote opens the car, Windows work ok, Red led on the stereo comes on. I need to find the code for the stereo, All the dash lights comes on when the key in the ignition on position 1 and then goes Start Error before i turn the ignition to position 2.
My name is Tom and just bought my first Mercedes Benz which is a 1997 S600. I saw it listed on Craig’s list for 1500 dollars.
I looked at it and it was a bit rough and the sun roof had been broken a couple of days before I saw it. I was torn and really not sure I wanted this project. I though about it over the next couple of days, and went to see it again. I offered 900 dollars and I told the seller that I want to use my scan tool before committing to buy. It showed a secondary air something error, and I backed out. However I just could not get that V12 out of my mind. I thought I would send another offer over of 700 dollars and the seller agreed. I asked why did they want to sell at half the asking price, and was told the car was going to get destroyed where it was at. It is now safe in my garage with a drip pan under the engine, it seem to a bit of oil on the cross member so I will have to figure that out. I have also have a replacement sun roof glass along with service manuals on the way to figure out how to get it the replacement in.
I am looking forward to tapping into the wealth of knowledge in this group.
