New member checking in.
This time last year we bought a 2013 E220 AMG Sport Cabriolet in silver with low mileage in great condition with all the toys, as a retirement present for us. We absolutely love it, especially with the roof down on country roads, even when it is not so warm. Everything was in full working order until last week when suddenly the multi-contour controls seats stopped working. I have checked the fuse (no 60) and the pipes all looks OK (as far as i can see). So my first post is a request for some guidance on what I can do to solve the problem. I am a retired mechanical engineer and have worked on cars loads of times in the past but nothing as complicated and potentially expensive to fix so assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and glad to join. I am very happy to see such a collection of useful information and knowledge. I hope to help contribute what i can. I have been a German car enthusiast for many years. Only recently have I started my own dealership and can't seem to not keep finding great examples of well kept cars that need fiddling.

sl 550 2009
Hello All. I am Donald Ross, and I live in Jupiter Fl. I am 70 years old but don't always feel it!
I can't post a pic yet, since I am buying one in the next couple of days. Back in the 1970's and 1980's, I owned quite a few SL's over about 16 years. I started with a green 280, then a silver 450, then a silver blue 450 I think, then a black with tan 560 and my last was a gorgeous dark green (I forget the name of the color) with a beige interior--not as light a color as the stone colors I am currently looking at. I have zeroed in on 2009 SL 550. I am looking at 2 cars right now, one in black and the other in capri blue. It is a very hard but fun choice! I would love people's thoughts on those colors. Majestic black may be the compromise for me, but it seems hard to find. Glad to have signed on...dbrjr

CLA 45 AMG
Hello!!
Hi! This is Chloé from Tennessee.
A couple years ago I bought the car of my dreams, a CLA 45 AMG. I have enjoyed every single moment driving it and had a blast unleashing its power.
Unfortunately, I just moved and I am putting it for sale. Please let me know if you are interested, trust me this car is a blast.

Just picked up my first Benz on Monday - a 2017 E300 4Matic. Pretty base model - I think the only real options it has are the 18" AMG wheels/brakes and the illuminated emblem up front. Black with the brown interior. The interior is what sold me. The previous owner tinted it pretty dark. I just debadged it last night.
Previous cars are similar segment; Taurus SHO's, WRX, Lincoln LS & MKS's. Coming from a 2012 MKS with the twin turbo ecoboost. The Benz isn't on that level but it is winning on fuel economy by a country mile. Other current cars in the garage are a 2017 Q60 Red Sport, 2018 Expedition Max for the family and my fair weather friend is a 2016 Mustang GT Convertible.

Lovin' this C230!
Hello all. My name is Marina and I recently purchased a mint condition 2006 c230 Sport. One owner, custom ordered and shipped to Canada. The previous owner now resides in Houston, Texas and that is where I took possession. I had to get there fast too! It was wanted by many.
The car looks like it just came off the showroom floor. He had every nut and bolt replaced along the way and even the liner to the hood interior. The engine is clean as can be!
He gave me a binder full of receipts and logs all in plastic cover sheets. This guy took care of this car like one of his kids. He called it his "airport car" which is about all it saw: an airport garage then back home to a garage. It was 100% garaged. He has had nothing done to it except brakes. Looks like at least annually. It has just turned over 100k miles. The interior is remarkably clean. The mats were replaced with rubber (the originals were in the trunk, along with a high end car cover). It's a beauty and drives like a new car. I haven't taken it out of Sport so no idea how it drives in normal mode. I like Sport a lot!
I feel very lucky to have found this car and hope it lasts at least another 10 years 😎
I have usually modded all my past cars but the only thing I might do is make it triple black. Thoughts?

Happy mother´s day!
The previous one
Hi, I am Philip and I am an South African, working on rotation in Angola.
I am new and not new to this forum.
Happy mother´s day to all mothers out there.
I lost all information on my previous log-ins.
Had a 2008 ML 320 Airmatic W164 when I joined the first time.
Traded it for a 2012 ML350 Bluetec 4Matic W166 a few weeks ago.
Only had the privilege to drive the W166 for about 1 day before I had to return to Angola.
Second hand dealer still to fix the inoperative Parktronic.
Family drove to Oudtshoorn this weekend and for the second time someone is getting carsick driving through passes.
Have to figure out if it could be the Khumo tyres or wheel alignment/balance issues.
The ML320 had airmatic suspension (repairs costly) which I put on Sport when taking on passes.
I am looking forward to finding out more in the specific sections of the forum.
Thanks you for accepting me.. again.

Hi I'm Stacie. I finally decided to join the forum after lurking for a while. I have two white MBs - a 2008 S550 that I've named Powder and a 2003 CLK430 that I've named Powder-puff. Here's a pic of Powder-Puff, my CLK. I'm looking to send her into the shop soon to get some repairs done but I'm not too fond of the mechanic I've been using here. If anyone knows of a good one in Southern Maryland or the DC metro area, please share! Also, I've been confused about whether my vehicle is a W208 or a W209. Can anyone tell from looking at it?

Hello from the Bay!
I finally took the plunge and bought myself an E350 (w212) last week. Really really excited, it has not sunk in as yet. Got a check done today at Stevens Creek MB, all looks good! so excited about this. I've been lusting after the E for more than 2 decades now. I loved the W124 model, the lines were amazing. The subsequent models were too curvy for my liking and then when the W212 finally came out, I realized this was the closest (in my humble opinion) to lines that I liked. The E300 (2017-) again didn't appeal to me, so when the time came, it was the 2016. I found a few great cars, but ended up zeroing in on one at a Chevy dealer!
I'm super excited and can't wait to learn more about this!
Edit: just realized that this is a global forum so SF bay area!

In process 2016 GL450
She has been talking about it for a number of years. Purchased it because of the towing capability, everything else was a bonus. Would like to think I'm the type of person who reads and understands everything about their new truck - but the manual is much more than I can digest - will be looking for hints, like what are the essentials I/we need to figure out; can you really play a dvd on the front display while the car is moving? And with little ones, believe they will benefit from dual rear DVDs if I can figure out how to add them. Not asking in this new member post, just sharing I have a lot to learn.
Illinois; gray/black. After all the searching/features/analysis came down to just three show-stoppers:
1) sun / moon(was the bonus) roof (wow, but both shades open simultaneously, thinking we can't unshade only the sun, leaving the moon closed)
2) tow hitch; (and nothing special I need to do, the 7 speed will do it on its own.)
and
3) heating/cooling cup holders. So kool! yet hot. Yeah, after we found out about em, had to have em. Lucky, they came with the tow hitch. :-) sort-of.
I'm a technology IT person, when the geeks need help they come to the dr. (small d).
Hello, and thanks for the welcome sticky. Will try and search before I ask duplicate questions.

Hiya, KJ is the name. Currently in Indiana, but mostly NYC and Utah.
Anyway, I have a 2001 E320 Wagon, which is kind of a beast, and a bear to work on, as I understand it. I bought it for $300 from a friend though, so hey, no complaints.
After having driven across the country and back (already got my money’s worth), it needs tranny work now, so I am here to read old posts and ask inane questions so that I can pass the info to an actual mechanic.
Cheers!

The first and second Generations did cross over between 2002 and 2003 so it's a bit hard to tell if it's a C208 or C209. The "W" indicator are reserved for sedans. The "C" is for coupes or convertibles. I can tell you that the First Gens had 4 cylinder's (C208). The Second Gens either had a V6 or V8 (C209).
