2004 SL55
I have a 2004 SL55. Within a week of purchasing the car, I spent $1,500 had it the computer updated to gain max performance. I did not buy this car as a Sunday driver. I race it hard, love doing 65' burn outs. The car is amazing but I do get tired of the faulty warning lights that go on and off at random.
I am not sure how other 55's run. If I am rolling under 15 MPH and hit the gas hard, my will spin and leave a 3' double tire burn mark on the pavement. From a dead stop, I can burn a 65' two wheel burn out. I have to let off the gas a little and hit it again several time to keep the engine from over revering, causing a stall.
Can all SL55’s do burn outs with ease?
Do all SL55's have power to both rear wheels?
Jay

Hi, my name is Jaine. We love our ML 350. We have one in California and one in Maui both 2007. I'm having a problem with the power outlets (dashboard, rear and cargo). One vehicle all outlets works even when the ignition switch is off, and the other vehicle, the outlets works only when the ignition switch is on. I took it to the dealer and was told both are functioning properly, was told it has something to do with production date of the vehicle but they couldn't tell me the cutoff date. Can someone please give me an answer. Thanks.

Hi, I am Alex from Romania. I got my first mercedes 1 year ago, a 2005 C200 CDI.
I spent a lot of time improving my car, and I drive it every day, even if it is just for pleasure.

c240 mercedez Benz 2004 model
2003 C240 kompressor
i wondered if i could give my C240, 2003 model a new interior look by replacing the radio system with the later version of radio sytem that comes with the 2004 onward model. please advise if this is even possible even if it means removing some other items such as climate controls etc around the radio area..please advise..the dark radio appeal is just awesome by me and i want a replacement if thats feasible.

hello
Name is Jim-handle is telscherjim.
We have a 2012 Pruis V
and a 2006 Dodge Dakota, short bed.
After sitting in a cold garage overnite, the next morning, the radio will not work.
I drive 7 miles to a volunteer job. No radio.
When I leave, 4 hours later, the radio comes on.
Any ideas?

New member with a project
I have just found a 1998 SLK 230 r170 that has not been used for nearly a year. I have managed to get it started and brought it home, but it has many problems.
The car drives when driven VERY gently, but has very little power and no kick down whatsoever.
The roof won't open properly and it looks like the roof is damaged by previous attempts to close it.
It needs a full service and all lubricants, filters and belts replaced.
I have little time, so this is my long term project.
Underneath hides a fantastic car with only 46K miles.
I cannot believe my luck.
Robert, (North East England)

Hi everyone, My name is Stewart and I live in Coffs Harbour, Australia. To tell the truth, I feel a little like an imposter as I do not own a Merc and never have either. I have joined the Forum because I do like Mercs (is it ok to call them that?) and I would like to buy one in the future. I am in no rush and it wouldn't worry me if I had to wait 3-5 years. I am presently not ready to buy another vehicle but joined so that I could learn all about the marque and have a good idea when the time is right.
I would really like to eventually buy a 2008/9 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 sedan but want to learn about what to look for, the pitfalls etc.
I am a huge car nut and have a bit of a collection.
1. 1995 HSV Grange 215i 5.7L V8 (Australian car - my daily drive)
2. 1994 HSV VR GTS 215i 5.7L V8 (Australian car)
3. 2006 Suzuki Swift Sports (my wife's daily drive)
4. 1969 Morris Mini Cooper S Mk2
5. 1969 Jensen Interceptor Mk1 6.3L V8
6. 1970 Jensen Interceptor Mk2 6.3L V8
7. 1967 Jensen FF Mk1 6.3L V8
Thanking you in advance.

Hello All MB lovers,
Found this site very useful and would like to join and hopefully get good info on how and what to do when somethings goes wrong...
Since i am located in Denmark (EU) then its limited which model one can buy without rubbing a bank... This crazy country choose to Tax all cars 180% before they hit the road... so u can imagine how expensive it gets when one wants to purchase a newer model.
I have been blessed to be raised with MB and i know for certain that there is only 2 kinds of cars in this world... 1. Mercedes and 2 all other cars...
So i hope you guys won't mind in helping me out from time to time...
Thanks all and catch u soon in the forum...

Hello,
New 2002 320 owner here.
Joining a forum is only logical if it has value.
Being a former Acura owner I was part of a few forums. After a few years they had lost their luster and the conversations had become stale.
Now I am a overjoyed and pleased owner of a ML.
I had reviewed this site before I bought the truck. Looking at lots of pictures and reading lots of vehicle comments. The test drive was the best test drive I had had in many years.
Anyways.
Being a used truck, I had a problem with the vehicle not starting after 1 month of ownership. Checking this web site, finding people who were having or had had the same problem gave me a 99% surety that I was experiencing a similar problem.
I'm a long distance truck driver who travels 45 states. My ML had the problem in my companies parking lot and I had to leave it for a few weeks.
Buying the parts was an adventure. I bought the Crank Shaft Sensor in a Southern California shop and the (E8),E10 and E12 Torx along with 1/8, 1/4 extensions in a Western Idaho Baxters.
Got back after 4 weeks. Installed the part and BAM! or crank, crank.
Engine started on first try. And have had no probs since.
Thanks to this site, I saved sooooo much mula.
I Hope that in the future I will be able to contribute meaningful dialog that will help and maintain this site.

E320 4Matic
Hello and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
I am Michael and own a 2001 E320 4Matic that I try to take really good care of. I've discovered my alternator is dead and my shop is about thirty miles away in Portland, OR. I am wondering if, on a fully charged battery (no headlights or other unnecessary electrical stuff on) if I dare to make the trip rather than have it towed? I've never tried running the car on battery only (well long enough to take it a couple miles to have the battery/alternator checked out) and have no idea how much run time I may have.
Thanks very much!
Michael
