Welcome New Members
A few concerns & will have questions once I do a little more research on wiring, pump seals, evaporator, blower motor, alternative fuels, brakes, etc.
Is it best to post all questions together or separately?
Have done a lot of reading on this site & others but that has mostly led to create additional questions.
Prefer to do my own work because of too many problems created by regular mechanics not being thorough ( loose wires, suspension bolts, dirt in injector lines, charging for guessing ). What I've found is most can do the work to make it run for a while, but if done properly it can last much, much, longer.
PS, owned a 1978 300cd for 325,000 miles, routine maintenance plus a window motor & a cracked plastic valve that controlled coolant flow. Typically got 28 miles per gallon. Still running good when I sold it. Paint was failing. Believer in Mobil 1 oil & Michelin tires.
Favorite car of all times was the 1995-1999 Oldsmobile Aurora up until they would give out at about 200,000 miles. Good: power, handling, ride, quiet, options, sold my last one for more than I paid for it. Owned three of those.
Others: 1950 Chrysler Windsor, gas hog, teenagers bedroom velvet rear seat
1934 Ford convertible, 283 chevy stock trans & rear end. Fast & dangerous sold to man that restored it
1932 Ford 5 window coupe, 327 chevy, auto trans, modern for rear end, no heater/defroster (had to use hand to defrost windshield) fast & fun
1966 Buick Riviera (Motor Trend car of the year) paid for it with $100 bills made from working about 80 hours a week. Fast, bad tires until Michelins, really bad brakes could cross country at 100+ for hours
1971 BMW 2002, fun car, bad waterpump design
1972 Chevy El Camino, fun car but preferred BMW
1971 BMW 3.0 fun, fast, loved to drive it
(2) 1974 BMW 3.0's not as much fun as 1971
1975 BMW 3.0 CSI, low mileage rich guy kept pestering me so I finally sold it to him
1971 Lincoln 19 years old 5000 original miles, sold with 150,000, better tow vehicle than a 3/4 ton truck for my boat
1972 Chevrolet Chevelle 2 door hardtop 18 years old 17,000 original miles, made the mistake of letting female friend's son use it during college. He took care of it, but she said he could keep it.
1989 Range Rover, sold it with 325,000 miles, still ran good, rebuilt transmission once, springs once, did rest of maintenance myself. Taught me the importance of fresh antifreeze to combat aluminum corrosion.
1989 Nissan Maxima, great car, loaned to neighbor, he returned it with major mechanical problems
1995 Nissan Maxima good car
1995 Infinity I30 good car
1995 Olds Aurora 200,000 miles still ran good when sold but overheated frequently
1999 Olds Aurora at 100,000 miles T boned by teenager
2001 Olds Aurora quality in name only good engine tranny, bad body sold for salvage
1999 Olds Aurora kept two years sold to another Aurora follower
2001 Olds Aurora bought because of low price, still have it
1999 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 7.4 engine, strong, bad brakes, 10 mpg
1995 Chevrolet 3500 diesel flatbed, engine trashed by dealer mistake
Last few years have been buying diesel farm tractors & equipment instead of cars
2012 Prius wife's car, good ride, quiet, fair power, 51 mpg round trip to Wichita (1300 miles) yesterday
I Just took it to the local MB dealer for a "B" service, I had to pick it up after hours, ( $517.19 service ticket on the passenger seat ) and was greeted with a message stating my left parking light was out. Really???? Oh well, so I snapped a couple pics of the dash message, one of the front of the car, sans dead lamp, and promptly emailed the service adviser to arrange a time to fix the lamp and reset the message.
Other than that, someone has shoved a penny into the SD slot on the Comand. MB dealer told me they couldn't get it out and I'd need a new Comand. ($2,400).....Ummm "Not". That stated, I removed the penny myself...heads up I will add
, but the card reader prongs that read the contacts on the SD cards were damaged. Does anyone know of a company who either repairs those components or sells them? I'd hate to drop that much dough for simply an SD card option but I love my SD cards so I'd really love to be able to repair the SD reader in this Comand. Thanks in advance and look forward to browsing this forum.
I just recently bought a 2000 e55 with 80.000 mi. This thing is a beast and I'm doing add ons and upgrades.
I bought a 2014 c 300 4 matic last month from a dealer in MD. I live in PA and my local dealer is about the most arrogant and insulting person to deal with so while I test drove it their and picked colors from his stock, well I guess the jokes on hom.
Anyway after 1200 miles of gentle driving and averaging 25 MPG, I am ready to turn it loose.
So far I have had no issues and do like the car.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I have owned three E Mercedes, a 1999 E320, 2006 E350 and as of yesterday a 2012 E350. I want to learn more about this new car- having never owned the "sports package" & getting used to the new suspension, higher powered engine & crazy command system (does it really need its own 300 page operating Instruction book?).
Yikes! This might take a while

I'm new to this and I created this profile in hopes I can get some help on here, Like RIGHT NOW!!!! lol...
I have a Cranking Problem with my 1995 C280.
I was driving home from work on 294 tollway, the car just cut off, tried starting it, the car would only turn... I had it told to a shop.
They've changed the fuel filter, pumps, hose, and crank sensor. It started and ran for an hour, now it wont start, it just turns!
They've check all the fuses and there's no communication the scanner and the car.
Can I get some help without anyone telling me to search the thread!? Thanks.

I'm 17yrs old and got my first car. It's a 2005 slk350 6sp manual. Got it for doing good in school and being humble. I don't come from a wealthy family...just a hard working family. I purchase this car with all my Birthday and Xmas gift funds that I've saved up and my father help me with the rest. My father always tells me, don't wait for a special occasion to enjoy life...because tomorrow is a mystery.
I hope to meet great people here and learn as much as I can about this awesome car.

Just signed on and wanted to introduce myself. I drive a 2014 C-63 Edition 507 coupe, iridium silver w/ black leather interior. It's pure joy to drive.
While I'm a man in my 60s I'm new to forums so please bear with me as i learn the ins and outs of the format.
I look forward to reading about other AMG drivers, their experiences and questions that arise from ownership.
I'll try to attach photo taken of my beast at Laguna Seca while there for the Driving Academy.
Cheers

I'm Jon. I'm pretty new to Mercedes. I've had my C55 for almost a year now and I love it. I'm currently looking for people or car clubs around Chicago, IL to link up with. I'd like to start modding my car and learning how to maintain it myself. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Happy driving
Jon
