Hi, my name's Dave, I'm new to this forum and I live near Leicester in the UK Midlands.
I tried to sign up to this forum about a year ago when I bought my current Mercedes, but had some issues, and have only just tried again to sign up. No issues this time, so I thought I'd post a quick intro...
Summer last year, my then 18-year old son decided to buy an Mazda MX5 (Miata/Eunos)... Having ferried him around for a number of years, I was hoping a little pay-back for him to ferry my wife and I around now he had his license, at least just a little. That clearly wasn't going to happen in his 2-seater roadster, so I thought "If he can have a 2-seater roadster, why can't I?"...
I looked around several different cars, but absolutely fell in love with the hard-top convertible SLK (R171), as well as the growl and torque of the V8 in the AMG... so, after a short search, I found a great 2005 SLK 55 AMG with only 24,800 miles on it, and bought it!... I've added about 11,000 miles to it in the past 12 months, and I've loved every single mile of it!
I'm loving this car, and don't see me ever wanting to replace it!... In fact, I also have a Westfield SEight, which was my fun weekend car before I got the SLK... since buying the SLK, I haven't been out in the Westfield, so I really do need to put that up for sale sometime...
I'm looking forward to spending time finding my way around here...
