TheSilverSurfer introduction.

Good day to you all, I'm here to introduce my Silversurfer, I'm new to the club, and hope to learn and get some great advice off a lot of enthusiasts on here.

I do have one issue, I've recently had my bumper resprayed and I'm lead to believe the colour is "Brilliant Silver" was used rather than "Iridium Silver" to me it looks like it has a golden hue to it. when I spoke to the garage he said we used the colour code and sprayed brilliant silver, but I know the car to be iridium Silver.

I've attached a photo of car to show you guys, no modifications made at all, I seem to have lost a lost of passion for the car because of the bumper, I've added the difference in colours after the scenic picture of the Surfer.

I'm hoping you guys can help but my mind at ease.

The Silver Surfer

Before spray job scratch at bottom right.

After paint job, to me the bumper looks a different colour to the wing, having the gold hue.

Another image to me clearly looks a different colour to the wing.

Do you guys think I'm going over the top with the bumper, or can you see a clear difference?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post, your comment are appreciated.

Thank you,

I live in Manchester in the UK, the photo was taken in summer at sun set, I will upload more photos of similar quality/standard/Style. I just feel the passion has gone due to the bumper :/

Here's another before the accident.

Welcome to MBWorld. Really hard to tell from pics, but it's one of those things that as an owner, would drive me nuts even though no one would ever know lol. Don't lose your passion though, she's a beautiful piece of art and minor things like that just add character.

Aha yes you are in the same boat as me in terms of driving me nuts, it's rediculous but it makes me want to sell her . You are right though I could look at it as it a character.

If you can't really tell through the picture I'd say you won't tell at all in the flesh so to speak. She's a beaut, I'm looking to wrap the front splitter bit in black just under the licence plate to give that C63 aggressive look. I have nearly been in trouble with her a few times, I'm just pedal to the metal happy

I am taking it back to the garage as the alignment of the bumper is not right and he's said he'll sort it out, so his service is spot on, I'm just being very **** about the paint. A mate of mine said after 6months it will be fine, it's because it's fresh new paint, it just made me think twice when he said brilliant silver. I'm having a conversation with a Mercedes body shop tomorrow see if they can advise.

I'm also looking at door lights, I don't think mine are connected or work?

Just drive her till she's covered in brake dust and it'll match lol. Aero kit maybe to mask the difference?

For your door lights, might not have lighting package for door puddle.

Let us know if we can help you with upgraded whiter lighting. We have an array of HID and LED upgrades available

Welcome to MBWorld! What I can say from experience of having parts of my car resprayed over the 12 years of its lifetime is that if body shops just take the color code and then paint, it always looks a bit off. That's because paint ages and fades over time. The current shop that resprayed my bumper/lip pulls the paint from the items and then mixes it from the chips rather than using the color code. I also have a silver car so it not being the same and a bit off would drive me nuts. Anyways, this method has proven, to me, to be the most accurate. Can't even tell they were resprayed.
