2007 E63
Recently purchased 2007 E63

So, I made the "mid-life crisis" purchase - all logic was screaming "don't do it" but I was sold from the moment I felt the power and acceleration.

There are a number of faults that came with the car and which I was able to negotiate a better deal;

1. Right hand side paddle shift has partially broken away from steering wheel.
2. Hydraulic arms to lift the bonnet don't work.
3. Arms to lower the boot work ok, but the last 20 centimeters of travel is not smooth like it should be, gravity kind of takes over.
4. I get these occasional light flashes on the speedo dial. The lights which illuminate when you set the cruise control just randomly light up once in a while and just as quickly go off again.
5. I also get the petrol smell after filling up to full, lasts for as while until I burn off some fuel.

I have read all about no.5 but has anyone else dealt with these other issues ?

Also, has anyone installed racingbrake rotors, pads etc on their E63 ?

Thanks

Welcome to MBWorld and grats on the pickup. Only live once right? Be a shame to never have experienced the raw power behind that hand built AMG engine.

For rotors, take a look at our forum sponsor R1 Concepts. Quality brake components. Running them on several of my cars.

Let us know if we can help you out with any lighting upgrades

Amazing work

I want to do this to mine too.

Btw I would recommend powdercoating the window and roof trim. I did it on my car.

Looks a lot better gloss black

Jon replaced his OE rotors with RB two piece rotors for his E63 years ago.

E63 Front Rotor Replacement DIY - RacingBrake

Here is his last testimonial
Installed mine at 89k. At 175k now. Time for new disks.
Like hundreds of other smart MB owners Jon made his rotor replacement choice with RB for the lasting performance and durability.

RB two piece rotors actually cost less if you factor in the replacement on 1pc rotor and brake pads. Once rotor wears out you can just replace the rotor rings (re-use hat) which saves you maintenance cost in addition to the weight saving and performance gain.

You can search E63 (or C63) forums and learn why RB two piece rotors are most favored for both street and track performance.

Rotor kit comes with our most popular ET500 street performance pad for a no-squeaking, low dust street driving.

We look forward to serving your brake replacement/upgrade need. Please feel free to PM or call us for any questions.

Good lucks to your E63.
