Newbie from Arizona!

First time Benz owner - just purchased a very-well taken care of 2013 GL550. So far, I love it. Yep it's black - but so were my last 2 vehicles. Color doesn't matter - cars get hot in AZ no matter what

I live in Phoenix and have a black E class. Like you said, in Phoenix it’s hot in the summer no matter what color your car is! Welcome to the site and being a MB owner! I have had 5 different ones and love the brand! Just make sure you do all required maintenance and you will love it! The dealer will rape you on service cost. If you live in the north valley, my guy is great! He owns his shop and worked at the dealership for many years before going out on his own. His name is Jim and his shop is All Mercedes in Cave Creek 480-488-2766. (Tell him I referred you) He is usually about 35-50% less than the dealer and uses all Mercedes parts. If you do your own maintenance order your parts on line from arrowheadmbparts.com. That is the internet site and is so much less expensive than the customer site. You can pick up the parts at Arrowhead Mercedes or they will ship them. If you just call the parts dept you will pay 20-50% more. You can call parts and they will help with parts numbers, but then order through the site. Best wishes! This site is very helpful!

Speaking of the heat, I just discovered the existence of Ceramic Window Tint which supposedly blocks out much more heat than normal window tint. A colleague at work just had this installed on his new truck and says it's amazing. The cost is nearly 2x normal window tint - but I think it may be worth it living in AZ. Anyone have experience with this product?

I have recently tinted my windows with XPEL PRIME XR Plus ceramic window tint. The car is always garaged and I haven't driven too much in the heat to notice any heat differences yet. In driving since installation, I don't even notice that there is tint on the windows - absolutely clear vision. I went with 35% on front and 70% on all other glass.

See attached performance specs.
