The Best or Nothing
Just got my first Mercedes. It's a 2011 E 350 W212 V6 Avant-garde 4Matic. It has Premium Package 1 and 2. As well as special ordered leather seats. It came from Mercedes of Scottsdale. And has been in Arizona and Texas the life of the car. It's pretty sweet. When I had the oil changed they said "wow, it looks like a new car." I detailed, then cleaned and conditioned the leather using Aero products and Lexur. I use Girots Garage Best in show Spray on Wax after I wash it. It had been running 5w 40 Mobil 1 the life of the car. On the first oil change I switched to Mobil 1 0w 40. Ran that for 500 miles. Then I just recently put in Ravenol SSO 0w 30. I'm averaging 20.5 mpg. And 24 mpg on the Highway. It's very nice. My first car was a 88 Toyota Corolla. Then a 78 Ford F150, followed by 2001 Black Honda Accord Lx 2 DR. A 93 BMW 7 series. A 98 Saab 9-3, 2007 Dodge Durango, 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and a little Dodge Dakota before I gave up driving and moved to Boston and DC. Now that I'm back in Maine, a car is imperative. I considered a Lexus RX 350, and a Volvo XC60, thus far I think I made the right choice. Its fun to drive and handles great. It's also pretty classy. When I was younger I thought Mercedes was a bit ostentatious, but times have changed, as have I, and these days I feel like a BMW and many of its drivers can be a bit obnoxious. The sound system is the best I've had in any car. One of my favorite things is the balance it strikes between sporty and sophisticated.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Thanks everyone! The last photo is while I was camping in Camden, Maine. Yesterday after washing, I conditioned the leather, cleaned the engine bay, and I clayed the car, and in the evening I applied Mcquies Ultimate Liguid Wax. It went on fairly easy, it was around 69 degrees. It came off just as easy. I'll put a second coat down next weekend. Then for maintenance shine I use Lucas Oil Slick Mist. I use Aero rubber protector on the tires. Since I'm in New England I'm going to undercoat it. I'm leaning towards Krown. I had checked Ziebart, and the quote was prohibitive. A ceramic coating was even worse. I'm in the process of making subtle mods. It came with a factory tint, which looks great, but I was considering adding xpel xr Plus 70, or possibly 50 percent. We are not permitted to do the front windshield, and I want to ensure it is a smooth transition. The xpel has a slight bluish tint, so I'm curious if it will make a difference to the factory tint. I'm on the fence about it.
