What’s good everybody? My name’s Terrance and I’m excited to finally become a member of the MB culture! I just locked up a great deal on a W212 E550 4Matic that’ll be picked up today to shipment to me in Colorado.
It will be my daily so I won’t be going too crazy with mods but definitely want to make it my own.
K&N filters, taking off the standup hood emblem and swapping with a flat OEM one I’ve got, and probably some pads and fluid for the brakes.
I don’t want to mod the exhaust system too much, possibly add a x pipe and a muffler delete to give a more throaty sound since those stock mufflers contain that biturbo so much.
Any suggestions or tips are appreciated, looking forward to the forums!
Welcome. Nice ride and pictures. If it's going to be your daily in winter then having the undercarriage coated with an oil coating that protects against the damage caused by driving on salted roads would be a wise investment.
I agree with the side markers for sure! That was the first thing a lot of owners did back in 2011 etc.....a bunch of us also got 'star grills' which I still have LOL! I got aftermarket wheels too. I never did any go mods only the show mods as I didn't want to disturb anything under the hood. I wrapped my 550 once too for 110 days, then it got stale and I peeled it all off LOL! Good thing for me I got a slamming deal on the wrap as it was a first for that particular shop
Keep it clean and post up pictures if/when you mod her
Just two subtle exterior mods
1 - clear front side marker lenses
2 - replaced "blue efficiency" plates with "V8 biturbo" plates
There are many options, but I'm happy with it being stock. Check out the W212 forum as there are lots of great ideas there
