Cost of B! service for Class A-$1460 plus tax
I recently took my my 2015 CLA (42,000 miles) in for B1 service. I was sent a coupon which was an allowance of $120 off the cost of service. The cost of the service at my dealership was $1,460 which I believe in excessive. I now drive the car about 5,000 miles a year and feel that its not worth the high cost for the benefit I receive. I am thing that I will just ignore the service next time and drive $10,000 mile before the next B1 service. The tech explained the B1 service to me but it doesn't seen worth the cost. I have owned MB for over 20years and love the the car but feel MB is over pricing the cost of service. I would like to hear any thoughts m suggestions and comments from other MB owners. Is there a feeling that the cost are worth it? Previous B1 service was less that $1,000. Why is there such a large jump in cost? Can I contact anyone at MB to give them my input or obtain a detailed explanation for the cost? Thank you. Joe poll: worth it, not worth it?

If all they performed was the B service at the 40,000 mile interval then the price seems excessive, We have owned my wife's ML350, 79,000 miles, now for over 10 years and have never paid more than $700 for the B service - but this is just the B service and includes nothing else, throw in and oil change and we are almost at the $1000 mark.
I had a 2008 CLK350 Cabriolet and the B service ran about the same, traded in the CLK at 97,000 miles
Just got a 2017 E400 wagon and called our dealer for price estimates for the e - prices for A & B service were a little higher but not significantly, until It hits the 60,000 mile mark. cars live in central Virginia, and have been serviced both in Charlottesville, VA and
Wash. DC, labor rate in DC was slightly higher - which I can certainly understand..
40,000 Replace Air Filter, Rotate Tires, Service Battery/cables, Transmission Fluid Service, Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement, Cabin Replace Air Filter, Change Oil and Filter, Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement

Thank you. I agree . I am considering my next service to be with a independent and not MB. My $1460 included oil change which does bring it more in line with what your charge was. My prior service charges were $1,000 or less. The approximately 33% increase did not go unnoticed. Thank you. Joe

Thank you for the the good advise. There is another MB dealer from which i will get a quote. I don't object to paying a fir price for service but I don't want to be overcharged. I agree PM is very important and that it the long run it pays off.

High price
I was quoted nearly the same for the upcoming 80000 mile service for my S550. Even with the tranny service this seems way too high. And they cant rotate my wheels since they are different sizes front and back.

I priced shopped another MB dealer and will be having the more reasonable dealer doing my future service. I realize the importance of PM but I feel MB charges are excessive for the service preformed. Thank you. Joe

Glad you found a better price at the other MB dealer. In general, you always want to make sure that where ever you take your car that they're knowledgeable about your car. Non MB independents may have a cheaper price but they may not be as knowledgeable about your car as the dealer. Sometimes the saying, "you get what you pay for" has some merit..

Update on my experience with MB. I received a call from the service manager in response to my low rating of their service on a survey of my satisfaction. The service manager explained in detail the service I received and also provided additional free service to address my dissatisfaction. I now feel that the dealership exceeded my expectations and that I am very happy with the services I received.
