Ive had Mercs for over 20 years. Currently have two. My wifes 190E 2.0 which goes for ever and this, that I bought in the UK at the weekend and drove back to France.
It was for sale for 2000 pounds, in great condition, full service history, new MOT, new tyres, pads, fan belt and battery. Everything works.
Now here is the odd bit. Its badged as a Brabus B9 on the boot and has Babus symbols everywhere.
However, the engine cover is wrong. Every Brabus B9 photo Ive seen on the net has twin air inlets, is black with a red stipe and has B9 written on it.
This is all red, has a single air inlet and is not marked.
Anyone got any ideas? I bought it as a 320CLK to be honest so am not bothered if its just a badge job.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Brabus on instrument cluster Brabus on grill Brabus on wheels......twice, and calipers OK OK, I get it, its a Brabus!!! or someone wants us to think it is.
I have sent them a message with the VIN. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light on it.
I drove her back 700 km without any faults or problems. She has a fully stamped service history, New tyres, pads , Battery and fan belt. New MOT and no rust. Even if she is not a true Brabus, I think she was a bargain. What do you guys think?
welcome to mbworld...
most likely it's just a sticker/decal job...
I wondered that and had a reply back from Brabus. It isnt a factory conversion but they think it was a dealer one. The instrument panel logos and brake caliper logos are Brabus. Way too much effort to fake.
Next step is to contact the garages that serviced it. See of they know anything.
