Greetings all,
Just purchased my first Mercedes. I had owned a '06 Expedition King Ranch but it had pretty high mileage and was going to need substantial work, which, no longer having access to a lift, was going to cost a bunch of money. I had been looking at several Range Rovers and other similar vehicles on the old interweb when I came across this '09 GL 450. I had done some research regarding GLs and found information regarding the need to replace the air bag suspension units and priced them out. That seemed to be the number 1 item on the "probably will need to be done" list. To my surprise the owner kept meticulous records and had replaced the bags with lifetime warranty ones recently. She also had the car maintained at the local Mercedes dealership for years and had every work order and invoice. The interior was like it was still on the showroom floor. She was a single woman so no "family wear and tear" on the interior. Everything seemed to work perfectly so it was a quick decision, considering the condition of similar aged vehicles I had seen.
I've had it now for about a week and the only thing I noticed is what I believe is the air bag pump kicking on every so often. Is this a normal function of the system?
I'm pretty sure I'm going to enjoy driving this car.
