2021 GLC43 AMG
New member checking in

Hey everyone. I just picked up a 21 GLC43 AMG a month or so ago and I figured I'd join the forum to see what I can learn. I've been in and out of the Japanese import scene since the original Fast and Furious movie came out 20 years ago, but the GLC is my first jump into the luxury market. In a previous life, I had a Subaru WRX wagon that was slammed and cambered on coilovers with some deep dish 3 piece wheels.

I love that look, so the first order of business is lowering the car and finding some nice wheels and tires. I'm not planning on lowering it to the impractical point I had my old Subaru to, but I am interested in some of these modules that can kill a lot of the wheel gap.

For wheels, it came with the 21" wheel package, but I live in an area where the Continental run flats aren't an ideal year round option. I'm looking at replacing the staggered 21x8.5/9.5 with a 21x10 square set up on some sticky 285 or 295s, and then slapping some winter or performance all seasons on the stock wheels. From what I can see, the pickings are pretty slim on 21" winter or all season tires with the right sidewall height though.

Anyway, looking forward to learning as much as I can from the members here and sharing some progress as the kids come along.

Thanks. I was in the market for a performance luxury SUV and was pretty set on a facelift SQ5 after test driving one, but I figured it would have been a disservice to not at least check out the GLC43. Unfortunately, there weren't any Macan S's anywhere near me for the final comparison since those three cars are generally considered equivalent. The local MB dealer had just gotten this GLC back as a lease return and put it out on the lot a day or two before, so we went and checked it out. I loved the color combination and the test drive checked all the performance boxes, plus this one had pretty much all the optional equipment (21" wheel package, midnight trim package, saddle brown interior, Burmester sound, etc.)

The SQ5 felt more focused on the performance driving experience (even though it's slower 0-60 than the GLC) with the luxury features as a bonus. The GLC blended the driving experience with the luxury features through all the adjustable settings.

Welcome aboard from another new member.
Looks like you got the fan cooled seats option too. Missing that option on mine but I was lucky with the options that I found on it.

I too started out in the JDM scene so long ago but eventually am slowing down on the modding now and just enjoying the luxury side of the euro scene.
Easily adjusted air ride height was one of the deciding factors in my first MB.

Wheels, lowered done. No more mods... for now.

Pulled the trigger on an MWMods lowering module a few weeks ago. I'm daily driving at -25/-28 F/R, but the other preset is maxed at -55 F/R (-70mm total when Sport+ is engaged) for shows and photoshoots when the next car season rolls around.

Looking at some forged multi-piece wheels to finish the look when the spring rolls around.
