New member checking in from Kuala Lumpur
Checking in from Malaysia, with a new to me, w204 C250 CGI BlueEffiency. It was my old man's daily driver, but since his retirement, the car has been somewhat neglected. Long and short, he handed it over to me, (with title transfer and all), and I have been slowly fixing it up. I've always been a car junkie but only on the VAG models; still drive my 4LB Q7 and my Mk6.5 Jetta. Things that have been done so far:
1. Magnetic cam gear and timing chain kit replaced
2. Cooling system overhaul, including new radiator and thermostat
3. New oil cooler, oil filter housing. Major leak on this one
4. New alternator
5. Main and aux batteries replaced
6. All fluids changed, including differential and the 722.9 plus transmission ATF.
7. All EDC shocks replaced with OE Monroe and OE mounts
8. Front thrust arms replaced
9. Rear coil springs pads renewed
10. New tires for all 4 corners
11. Exterior polish
12. Interior cleaning
13. Installed Apple Car Play module, while keeping the NTG4.5 intact. Using the COMMAD wheel as control
Things to be done:
1. E brake refresh kit. I have the dreaded metallic rattle over bumps, due to the broken clip at rear right
2. Transmission is leaking a bit. Maybe over filled as the shop pumped in 8L with TC drained. Maybe leaking at the secondary pump for the ECO start/stop
3. Interior cosmetics refresh; buttons replacement for the peeling ones. Ordered by not yet arrived.
4. For some reason, there is a dead fly trapped inside the instrument cluster. Not sure if I have the conviction to open it up. Probably will keep it in there as a good luck charm.
5. AC compressor and refrigerant check, as I can feel some vibration when the AC is on
This car carries a huge sentimental value to me, as I drove my new born daughter home, back in 2012 in it. Fast forward 14 years later, it has been entrusted to me to be kept well and driven.
As she is now.
The afore-mentioned fly.
New tires
Car play works.

To update on the transmission leak, it was the auxiliary pump seal/snorkel. If you see the aux pump top face, it mates to the transmission without any gasket; the only sealing elements are the 2 nibs that go into the transmission housing. Well, they replaced these 2. MYR 490 a pop, which is about USD 122.
All clean.
