Where is the fusebox for the AC plug
Can someone tell me where the fusebox is for the cigarette lighter?
I want to wire up on radar detector to the fusebox but the fusebox by the left and right front doors stay on even when the ignition is off so these fuses don't work.
I don't have a manual to direct me where to look.
Thanks.

Open up the cup holder, there's 2 rubber plugs. One on each top corner. Pop that off,and unscrew the hex screws to remove the cup holder. You can tap your radar power wire to that. That's how I got my radar connected.

do you have pictures how u routed the the wire up to the radar? is the radar on the lower rf cutout of windshield? or is there a way to easily fish the cable up to the dash where the lower cutout is.
Thanks
Thanks

I don't have a picture to show you but it's quite easy...
starting by the mirror,
tuck the wire underneath the headboard.
.run it towards your right.
Then tuck the wire down the a pillar
and then behind the fuse box by the passenger side door
Then run the wire underneath the passenger knee area below the glove box
and then into the cigarette lighter
Let me know if this makes sense?

Rather than going to the Cig area and tapping a wire there, I am planning to simply plug it into the 12v socket in the glove box.
Where did you mount the radar? exactly right of the rear view mirror? how is the reception ?

Also I don't have any outlet or power in my glove box so I had no choice but to wire it up to the cigarette lighter.

that is strange, must be something they added recently. I have it in my 2012. I can't tell from the pic, is that to the left of the rear view mirror right where there is small spot with no infra red coating on the wind shield?
I do not want to put there as i wont be able to use the sun shade then as the passport 9500ix is long and narrow.
I am prolly gonna put mine in the low middle center and run the cable the way u did, just not all the way up rather across the dash to the unit.

I have my detector right smack in the middle of the mirror and it's mounted on clear glass. Actually i'm going to mount it on special adapter instead.
I asked this ebay seller here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ESCORT-REDLI...ht_3196wt_1231
to make a special adapter for the sclass. They told me that they purchased a sclass mirror so that they can fabricate the mount for this. That was actually last year so i'm going to contact them so that the detector is no longer mounted on the windshield.
That will also solve your sunshade issue.
