  • Larger intake valves
  • Larger exhaust valves
  • Revised intake camshafts
  • Revised exhaust camshafts
  • Stiffer valve springs – ensures that the valves close completely at high rpm
  • New cylinder-head casting – revised ports that provide a straighter path to the valves for less-restrictive intake and exhaust flow; combustion chamber modifications accommodate larger valves
  • Sinter forged connecting rods – lighter and more durable for high-rpm operation
  • Redesigned piston tops – deeper cutouts clear the new larger valves
  • Rebalanced forged crankshaft – supports higher-rpm operation
The coyote heads alone on the previous 5.0's flow insane numbers, they claim a modest increase just north of 420HP/390TQ. With simple bolt ons with the current coyotes, guys were surpasing that with rwhp numbers easily.

The auto will have paddle shifts along with rev matching down shifts. I think they have out done themselves this time. A simple blower package should net insane performance

And it'll still drive like ****, with an interior from a Fischer Price parts bin.

Say no to Ford.

The problem with all American cars is the cheap, plasticy, creaking, rough riding interiors. Sure, they make power... I drove my boss's 2011 Vette the other day and it felt that way...

No more live rear axel. I like it but the interior is definitely crap, but what do you expect from a less expensive car? Bang for the buck is what it is about and from what I read, it handles like a champ. You get power and a FIS so it will go and corner. I want it all, performance, fit and finish, and build quality but I am able to pay for it. 25 years ago I couldn’t afford the upkeep on the AMG Merc so the Mustang would have been an option.

Keep in mind I am a Mustang fan at heart. I have owned numerous Saleen Mustangs over the years and grown up with many early Shelby's and Mach 1's as a kid.

The upgraded engine sounds nice, but I don't know why the Fusion front end was necessary. This just kills the styling along with the front bumper hanging about 2in higher than the side of the car making the stance look awkward.

Initially I thought maybe the engine is taller so they had no choice, but the Coyote 5.0 is no taller than the 4.6 motor cars at @26in.

The interior looks better than prior Mustangs, but the door panels look like cheap carry over parts from prior model years.

Also, I am sure lightly optioned 5.0 coupe's will be $40k+ which is a deal killer. At $25k, maybe I would consider it as a 2nd car.

I guess I will have to keep adding mods and continue to show the new Detroit muscle grocery getter tail lights

I think it looks okay. They had to make some changes because people expect changes from year to year when you sell a billion of them every year. It's a raw car compared to a Mercedes and it is what it is. I'm sure it would be a fun car to drive but I'd never own one. The problem with Mustang's is that they make so damn many of them. Same issue with the Camaro. Although I see a hell of lot of C series MB's as well. There's one of each on every corner. With all due respect I prefer cars that aren't stamped out like tinker toys.

They are also coming out with their 2.3ltr eco boost engine rated at 307hp. They built it with a forged bottom end so those little 4 bangers will probably put out some power.

I personally think they did a great job on the styling , and they're improving on an already awesome engine too. Win.

I have a feeling it will look much better in the flesh. I'm ok with the styling but like someone else said, I just don't see paying $40 grand for it. My first car was a Mustang GT and thus, it will always be a sub $20 grand car to me. Good news is the price tag should keep it out of the hands of most teens for a number of years.

Looks awesome to me, exterior is huge step fwd like Ferrari & stang mix.. You mb diehard fanbois need to relaxe, thread isn't threatening our 10 year old mb's in anyway. The same old interior is crap yak.. yak... Is laughable at this point. When they release supercharged model it'll be a potent formidable apponent, add basic boltons and lights out!

Funny... I bet Audi, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Bentley, etc etc Carry on about MB's interiors same exact way.. There's always something better made & helluva a lot faster than our 4200+ lb MB's

Everytime you post something about Ford it gets moved.
Might be angering the AMG gods?

Your "Chawkins on the Bench" thread lasted longer than this one.

Sorry guys, I moved it…didn't seem all that pertinent to W211 and I was just trying to tidy up the forum. Rest assured that no AMG Gods were angered before or during the move.
