Aftermarket tube headers for W210 V8?
Need info quick. I have a smashed header that needs replacing immediately.

From my experience headers will show 20 RWHP improvement on E55. I had a set custom made as well as Unichip, pre cats and mid muffler removed, K&N filters and airbox modified, total 40 rear wheel horse power increase on Dyno Dynamics dynamometer.

If the mid muffler is removed, does the car get very loud?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Under acceleration car has a nice throaty growl now!
As for price:
Headers $2000
Exhaust Mods $400
Unichip -ecu mapping on dyno for premium unleaded and inlet/exhaust mods $1500
Airbox Mods: $800 - as well as K&N filters purchased new air box and went to work with plastic filler and dremel tool, removing square edges in air flow. Also did heat shielding as per my orginal post.
Mercedes V8 factory headers and where they join exhaust and navigate the steering rack, is the worst design I have seen. I am shocked that AMG doesn't replace it themselves.

. With out the mid muffler, does the car get too loud???
Matter of opinion. On light throttle no, inside car no, apparently quite loud from outside. The mid muffler is straight through anyway, so there is no performance increase from removing it, but I love the note, but then I used to run my Porsche Turbo with the Turbo Cup exhaust on the street, (a straight through pipe with no mufflers or resonators)
