Out Of Control!!
The headers are made of stainless steel and utilize a special proprietary 2-stage ceramic coating true thermobarrier coating (TBC) that Lockheed and Boeing use on their heat-sensitive equipment. We are currently looking into CARB approval, which will make our headers the only EPA certified and CARB approved headers for the Mercedes (and BMW).

Pricing is yet to be finalized, however it will be much less than the other tuner's headers, as ours are made in house, and do not have to be imported from Germany. These headers should be available within the month, and I am accepting pre-orders now. V6 headers should be ready by the end of the year.

There is only 1 prototype set at this time, and it is on my car. You will be able to see some of it from inside the engine bay, but there are A LOT of parts in the way, leaving not much room to make or see the headers.

Damn, those are really nice looking saxophones.
Will those fit all the modular V8 ie. 4.3 5.0 & 5.5 liter engines?

Any idea how long the conversion would take? In by 8:00am out the same day? I have a 97 E 420 Sport, will they work? If so I would like to get both the headers and the underdrive pulley, when can you quote a total price installed?
Best and thanks.

Kev - yes, made for modular motors.
bevhills - yes, one day. Send an e-mail to ben@evosport.com for scheduling and pricing.
Thanks

I hate to say this, but the primaries on those are way to short, and there are too many variances in the size of the headder. I can't predict much gain from those. I would rather buy them form a real tunner, or coat my stock manifolds which are tubular steel. I really hope these are the first step in a series of prototypes.
You know, I talked to a Borla rep at SEMA, he said if you brought him a car then he could make good headders for it. I saw the product of this when I worked for Viper shop (Bobby Archer's Speedvision Viper) and damn it looked better and made a big difference. THose guys (borla) really know what they are doing.
the ones in this picture, though proven, have really short primaries IMO

Real tuner, LOL. How many shops in the US can build a 6.2l MB motor.
First off, we have tested the MKB ones and these make more power.
Second, if you think that you can make better ones, do it. We welcome each and every product to the Mercedes world! I would love to see Borla's design.
Thanks
Brad

Give some real proof of performance gains. I mean dyno numbers, acceleration numbers, flow numbers (though I doubt many poeple could really provide these). Tell me what made you come up with this design. I do not work for Borla, or any "tunner" shop, so there is not much chance of me coming up with any competition for you. I was just offering an alternative. The thing is, after reading some of your other post, and seeing the results of other things your shop has made I have become quite skeptical of your shop. I just want some more proof that these are going to do something for me. I also really want to know, who there is the MEchanical engineer, and if he can give me some real theory behind what you make.

I could make all the claims I want, and tell you my Jaguar has a bored out inline 6 producing > 400hp, and has undergone a 6 speed conversion, but until you see it, you would be hard pressed to believe it, or purchase it for that matter!

Our exhaust fabricator (who is extremely well known and respected) created these on the most sophisticated PC program available and were double checked on a secondary system.
Vadim and our exhaust fabricator are both engineers.
If you are skeptical of us, then don't buy them! No sweat!
We have a great time dealing with customers who trust us and enjoy their cars and the gains they get.
Thanks

Actually, if you read the post you would see that we will provide all of that (dyno numbers, etc.). These have been flow-bench tested and will be the ONLY pieces that are CARB and EPA legal in the US (longer primaries as you suggest would not pass either).
