New pulley kits for C32/SLK32 and SL55
but If I spend 110k+ in an SL55 or 70k in a slk 32, I would go with a proven pulley kit from a company like Renntech, Brabus or even Kleeman...
ASP pulleys arent as tested..

tough call, but I reckon one should take the T12 6.4 kit from Brabus on a SL600. 640BHP, 1000Nm Torque, and no external changes means its a relative sleeper, then we shall see who wants to snob the AMG owners!
Although I can see you point about Brabus, although very, very expensive they do have MB's blessing. The problem I've heard is MB will only warranty it if the work is done in Brabuses facility.
Currently they only make pulleys using the factory damper similar to Renntech. The factory pulley/damper has it's grooves machined smooth, a ring is pressed on and then welded for added safety. Then it's re-balanced.
..maybe

Not to be rude but frankly I don't know why you are so concerned with any performance mods since you haven't done any yourself.
I've bought products from "real Mercedes tuners" and nothing I've bought from them meets any of my expectations for product quality or design. Since you don't buy these products it's easy to put down the ones you think are bad.

i can be your test mule 2!!!! ANYTHING for free HP! :p

I use a chain saw, Drain Pipe and JB Weld.. 15 HP...
especially for those that are wary of the solid pulley.
i think it is $1600 for renntech's and this sounds quite safe, since (like renntech) it is a press on ring using the factory pulley.
$650 sounds like a good deal.
maybe evosport will sell the ic reservoir upgrade alone?
Not the same thing but you may want to try the the Aquamist water injection. Linh put it on his SLK and the early dyno numbers look good. It sprays a high pressure mist of water/alcohol during high boost. It lowers the temps of the air/fuel charge significantly and buffers any possible start of detonation, a valuable tool for the poor excuse of 91 octane they sell in California. These kits normally sell for about $600 but I found a guy on ebay selling them for $420. Evosport used it on an M3 project and it was featured in a magazine article.

ROCK ON ASP! let us C32 people know what you can do to our cars.

Evosport asserts that the stock intercooler and reservoir capacity is very inefficient. Personally, I've heard mixed stories on it. Increasing the size of the reservoir simply delays heat soak and would also take longer to cool, a gallon of water at 100 C will take longer to cool than a quart at 100 C. So while it may be fine on a 1/4 mile track, on a road course it would quickly not make any difference.
I suspect that even on 91 octane fuel, a 10% larger pulley will not cause any detonation. However, if you are concerned, you can always use an octane booster. Amsoil makes a very effective product called Amsoil Series 2000 octane booster. It is the best back for the buck in octane boosters and will take 91 octane fuel to a little better than 94 octane. Here is a link which discusses the effectiveness of different octane boosters: http://www.fbody.com/members/stevenm...ne_booster.htm
Just thought I would share my few pennys.
If someone in So. Cal. wants me to log their air intake temps I can, just takes a few quick runs to 80-90 mph as you drive and I can show you your intake air temps, timing advance, mass air flow. It's easy to do this on a dyno, the problem is it's hard to simulate real life conditions with a coupe of fans.
As for higher octane, I've tried pure 100 unleaded and it didn't make a difference. When you add a pulley to a 2.3L, HP seems to decrease above about 5,500 rpm, don't know why, it's not pulling back timing or detonating, fuel mixture actually gets a little richer at that point. So I tried the 100 octane and got similar results.
Irvine, an alternative to intercooler mods is a mister for the intercooler, don't know if that works with water/air intercoolers or not but I'm working on it for my car. I attached a mister nozzle in front of the intercooler and I've been looking for the right reservoir/pump to make it happen. I was going to use the windshield washer reservoir like they do on Audi's but on MBs it's heated.
