Is your car missfiring? Do you really think that by adding super powerfull ignition wires it will make your car faster than stock? Stock wires are sufficient. My car makes 400 rwhp dyno proven and it sports genuine factory MBZ wires, I only changed the plugs to Bosch coppers and went 1 step colder for a more percise heat range. Waste your money on getting more air into the motor, the more air in the more power you make.

True (not more HP).... but runs better. I'm not talking about a simple wire
replacement but ignition as well. For me and my last tuned turbo saab, the
MSD setup was a good fit.

Mr X?? What
type of plugs did you go with on your car and what type of car do you have?
I have a 99 C43 with some modifications (mostly getting more air into the engine) and was curious if going a range colder would help me get more power...through all ranges.
Appreciate your insight, thanks-

Mrx
dont think it will really be that effective IMO but i was just checking for the people that had it done if they themselves felt a difference.. im not looking for a dyno sheet i want to know seat of pants feel.. i know i was able to feel the difference with the chip and pulleys i would like to see if anyone who done this feels there car is faster than before..
To me if you mod your car whatever mod you choose the same car stock should not be able to run the same times you do.. meaning your mod would have made your car faster than stock.. so my real question i guess is anyone done this mod and feel they would be able to take a stock car of the same kind in a race??

Do you see them in the above link ? I am looking to replace my spark plugs soon, I have a stock 2000 clk430
Here is the full part number on the plug needed. Box number is 7557. Plug number is FR 8 DCX. I use these plugs in my car which is S/C and they run perfect. Heat range is ideal for modded motors. Hope this helps.

Thnx.
Richard,
These plugs I recommend in all v-6's and v-8's with mods done to software, superchargers, or internal mods to powerplant. They are 1 heat range colder than your stock platinum plugs but are a copper core. Copper plugs have a more specific heat range than a plat. Plat's are used mainly because of there broad heat range i.e. different climate zones. These plugs are stocked items at your local auto parts store. Remember to give the box number #7557 Super Bosch. Good Luck

Is it a good idea do have the plug wires replaced as well at the same time ?? my car is close to 5 yrs old with 33,000 miles on it.
thanx

Normally aspirated engines should run a plug gap of .042 to .046. For supercharged motors I have found that a plug gap of .035 works the best. Unless your car is miss firing there shouldn't be a need to change your wires, unless you see carbon tracking then you should replace them.
This was the 1st pull after verifying correct A/F ratios. Keep in mind engine was not allowed to cool and no 104 octane gas was used to cook numbers. This was done on a eddie current dynometer and not on a inertia dynometer.
My car makes 400 rwhp dyno proven
385HP is not 400HP, in the same way as 85 cents are not a dollar.
Tell you what, bring your car to our DYNOJET. It's the one that has your stock HP/TQ numbers. If you make more than 390 SAE HP on 91 gas with 8 lbs. of boost - than I will give you all the kudos in the world.
If not, it will be $150 for our time.
How about it?
You know how to reach me.
Yeah I know its a mere 15 horse. You think its unattainable? Keep in mind Stg II is not complete. Stg I makes 350 rwhp, lol the 385 was just a boost check and I happened to end up with that number. Tell you what you finish this 6.2 whatever litre motor, by then I'll have a 55 with my Stg III kit on it and we'll run the two. Good luck
P.S. I do have a 400+ dyno sheet, its a cold run not a realistic number. Since when do you sit and wait for a race with a cold motor? In the real world the motors hot, been running for a few hours we both know that.Besides it would be one thing if the power curve was falling off at 5,500 RPM's but as you can see that's not the case here.

Vadim your replys to this thread are well
If you would like to continue this discussion we can meet at the dynoshop where I go so you can see for yourself the power, btw you can pay them for the dyno run, that is if your still in disbelief. Otherwise there is an event being held at California Speedway on 9/25/04. Perfect place for settling grudges with identical cars.

Josh, I am in disbielief.
I know what it takes to get 400 rwhp on 91 CA gas out of 4.3L.
It is not 8 psi.
I do not believe any other dyno - but DYNOJET, the others are easily manipulated to make bigger numbers.
My offer still stands and it has nothing to do with drags.

You know, you are really on the border of corssing over the TOU with the promotion of your kit. As we mods agree that information is key, and you are providing that and giving people alternatives, we are not keen to press the issue here, but please realize that thread hi-jacking to promote a product that you are selling is close to the line. Please respect that. We are happy to see you give out information on what you are doing as asked, just please keep within the rules of the forum. If you want to promote full out, become a sponsor. Otherwise, you are free to respond to people as they ask about the kit, but, agian, hi-jacking a thread about a sponsors goods (in fact the one that pays the majority of the bills for this forum) is a bit over the line.
The best of luck with your kit, and I know we all wish to see more updates. Just please try to stay in topic within the threads.
Thanks
Brad
uhhhh Brad, if I was reading this post correctly, Mr. X was doing nothing more than talking about spark plugs which IS on topic for this post and it was EvoSport's own VADIM that picked up on a HP claim and asked about everything directing the conversation into the so-called "system pimping."
What's more, in the previous Mr. X post that YOU, yourself quoted, he clearly stated that the discussion was off-topic and offered a way to settle Vadim's call out without further diverting the thread.
Mr. X in no way hijacked the thread and was simply responding to questions posed by one of your own peeps.

Look Mr. Josh K - I take great offence to being called a "peep". If you want to call out insults have the ***** to do it in front of my face.
Mr X. has a tendency to exaggerate things. In the end I still do not see any proof of his 400 rwhp on 8 psi. Like I said before, if he does achieve this feat I will be the first one to congratulate and promote his kit.
