GIF's in signature

There was an announcement in Jan, I believe by Mr Bud?, that gif's would be allowed in signatures.
However, in my user cp the signatute permissions at the bottom of the page indicate "no".
And, if I try to upload one I get a vbulletin msg that animated images may not be uploaded in signatures.

I see many posters with sig gif's so would appreciate a bit of help (maybe change my permiissions to "yes")

Thanks in advance.

( i dont know if i should be posting this, but if you want to use an animated gif
as a signature, you will have to link it from an outside web address .... )

Yes, I have tried that, resulting in the same error message.
BTW I have right clicked on other member's gif's and they are on the mbworld server so linking doesn't appear to be an issue.

BTW Berger, in your user CP, under the signature option page, then signature permissions at the bottom, does it show yes or no for gif's ?

Also, on the subject of sigs, I've seen them with more than one photo linked or uploaded ,and that's something else that the vbulletin msg error tells me that I can't do.

thats weird too ..... if your images are hosted outside of MBW
it should allow you to link to whatever you want ....
(except flash) not too long ago, i had a signature of water rippling
right next to a static "beanie" character .... both showed up ...
i dont know why you're getting those errors ...

It is wierd. As soon as I try to insert a second image, I get the msg that only one is allowed.

I sure was using that area vs the blank box. It never occurred to me to try and enter an image directly.
I know see that it would be easy to do more than one.
Thank you again Berger S., you the MAN ! !
