Just upgraded to 09 R350
Just traded in my 07 320 CDI for a 09 350 V4. First of all does anyone know what V4 stands for? I had numerous issues with the 320 CDI. It was an early production date vehicle built in the fall of 06. So the deal I was offered seemed more than fair. I got the Capri Blue Metallic. Lots of little upgrades I especially like the new COMAND. I am going to miss the fuel economy of the 320 but the price of DIESEL being so much higher than SUPER did not really justify the grunt of the engine, adn the savings were close to nothing. The 350 is much quieter and smoother. Now in addition to the hard drive based NAV I also have rear view cam, 18 wheels, parktronic, iPod, Panoramic Sunroof, bluetooth, heated seats, fog lights etc., The only thing I am not crazy about was the look of the new dual screen entertainment units. They look somewhat after market compared to the ones I had in the 07 R. I hope the new DVD player plays home made DVD's. I also hope that the 09 model and the late production date will be a more reliable vehicle. Time will tell...

MDX, R350 soon
Congrats as well. Nice options btw, Do you get the USB inputs in the 09 R? It would be great to put movies on a 32 gig or higher flash drive and not have to fool around with discs. I agree on the screens, they look kinda stuck on, good you don't have to look at them.

Ditto from me. You know we're all jealous. Here is a comment from a former R63 owner...
"I owned an R350 when they first came out and loved the car, but couldn't resist the lure of more power and moved "up" to an R500 the next year. The V8 was an "adequate" engine with more torque, but I was troubled by a lack of balance and actually preferred the R350, overall. The R500's obvious heft over the R350 was very unsettling: the suspension, brakes, transmission and engine were compromised by the increased weight (My other Mercedes is a SL600)."
As for me, I thought the new panels were kind of neat - since they would be easy to install as "aftermarket" if I ever wanted to buy them for my '06 R350.

I finally pulled the trigger today, bot a new 09 R350 4matic for the wife, black N black, Pkg1, pano roof, heated front seats, ipod, pre-wired rear entertainment. Awww, the ride is absolutely nice, comfy and quiet.

First - congrats. The R is the best 7 seat ride on the market IMO. I am hunting for a 09 P2 and curious if you came across any in the Bay area. Was the final price what you posted? I actually got a dealer in TX to the mid 40s for a P1 Pano car with 170 miles on it. But I want P2.
