slow performance

A few weeks ago I become owner of 2007 R320 CDI. I have noticed that car a little bit hesitate to accelerate and I am wondering if any software update could be performed on car to solve that problem. When I press pedal, I fill that car doesn't respond on that (I used to have E320 CDI and I didn't have that problem) - it does take ~ 1 sec to respond on that event. In my dealership, they told me store that engine is going through regeneration mode and it is normal - I cannot believe but I'd like confirm it here ...

Also, I have installed Kleeman box but I don't see big difference..?

What I should do ..?

10x thanks ..

Alex

There are lots and lots of dealer technical bulletins regarding performance of this transmission behind the diesel. Take it in.

Thanks Wolfgang ...

I sent e-mail to my SA asking about all TSB performed to car. I am just wondering if ECU could be programmed to the latest software. I am going ask what it is the current version on car and I can compare it here ...
I used to drive E320 CDI and it was much, much faster ...

Every auto magazine review I've read on the R-class diesel mentions an unnerving lag upon pressing the gas. Once on the boil, though, the diesel reportedly moves the car pretty well.

You can try tunekit, I installed one on my R350, it helps. Reputedly a MKB ECU programing will turn the acceleration into a BMW style and still keep a Mercedes' comfort, I'll try this soon.

Could you please give me some link about it (tunekit). I am using Kleeman box (not ECU programming) and it did work excellent on my E320 CDI. Once I put on 1000 lb havier car, I don't see any improvement ...

zemun1234,

You can find what you need(power pedal) here: www.tunekit.com

Actually it won't increase power and torsion but only quicken up the pedal reaction, therefore, I think a ECU tuning should be done for better power output.

Samuel,
as I mentioned, I have Kleeman KD-Box and I think I am getting some boost (not as for E320 CDI) but I think my problem is TCU (transmission) software. I see Kleeman has ECU programming which it does modify both ECU and TCU. I am not sure if it does work 2,000 $ for heavy car as 'R' model ...

Is anybody there tried to do chip programming for R model ?

What transmission mode are you driving - C or S? I noticed a big difference between Comfort vs. Sport. I like the S as it's obviously peppier, but it also has more torque at low rpm and makes it difficult to stop/accelerate as smoothly from complete stock due to the brakes.

Always 'S' - I think some people switching to 'C' during winter time but I have locked on 'S'
