If you have MHI connector , you must buy the bluetooth module ( the dark model ).
If not, consider a parrot system . It's the best for a Mercedes. Remember the steering wheel module ( MOST not CAN Bus ).

Does the parrot system integrate fully with the command or is it external? I am also interested for my R500.
Thanks

I think CK3000 model is the right choice ..
Check in the Parrot website and find a reseller

Nice product but not for me. I am still exploring an OEM solution. I d hate having a button labelled "TEL" and a full dial pad on my dash and not using it. Thanks anyway

Do you have MHI or UHI connector ?
If yes , you can install Bluetooth cradle ....
So you can connect all phone with bluetooth ...
I own a R500 with UHI connector and bluetooth cradle. My Iphone 4 works fine ...

My Blackberry Storm 9530 works fine as well. I bought the MH1 adapter from eBay for a substantial discount over dealer prices. It integrates perfectly and works as described in the owners manual.

claimweb, I don't have neither a MHI or UHI connector. I also don't know if my car is pre-wired or not so that I can install the "puck" and MHI. I guess I will call the dealer and request they look up the vehicle data card and tell me.

TINMAN22, you probably mean that you bought the adaptor and inserted it in the cradle under the arm rest? Or did you install the wiring that the adaptor plugs in as well?

If you haven't the connector under the arm rest consider the parrot system .
It's invisible and fully functionally with your steering wheel buttons.
I think the model is the CK3000 with the interface ...
call a dealer and ask him ...

aggst1,

I purchased the adapter and inserted it into the cradle under the armrest. The car was already wired with the necessary hardware for the installation.

So did you ever figure out how to add the OEM system to your R500? I just purchased a nice 2006 R500 over the weekend and I am very interested in the OEM telephone system.

Thanks.

R350
Our 2008 R350 came with an MHI connector in the center console/armrest (has a protective cover that says to go to wireless4mb.com to activate it). Just a few weeks ago we bought a Mercedes bluetooth adapter on eBay for ~$100 (compared to $400 through Mercedes). I simply plugged it in, hit the Tel button on the Command system, then was able to pair it to my phone.

@radodrill : the said vehicle has no MHI and no connector whatsoever in the armrest.

Brian
No I never did anything. OEM solution was very expensive (about 2 grand) so I settled for a Bluetooth speaker mounted on the visor. I traded the car two months ago for a GL450

Good luck
