Re-setting the brake pad warning light?

Did a search, but couldn't find the answer.

I just replaced the front and rear pads on our 2006 R350. How do I reset the warning light on the dash?

1. Switch on ignition. Use the scroll page to get to the temp, mph page.
2. Press the scroll forward and backward button( down arrow) repeatedly until the service date is displayed.( or if it says," Service exceeded.."
3. Keep the trip odometer reset button pressed for approx 5 seconds until the Service Menu appears in the display.
4. Using the + and - buttons, select Confirmation of Service
5. Press the system selection button ( lower of page buttons at 6 O'clock position) to confirm.
6. Press again to confirm.
7. Service Confirmed appears in Multifunction Display
8. Press the same button to get to the standard display
9. Turn ignition off. The next time you turn it on, the reminder should not appear.

OR GO TO YOU TUBE AND SEARCH (R350 reset brake pads)

Nothing with the dashboard is required.

Just get new brake pads and new sensors and install them.

For me it is not the sensor, it is the "service" reminder warning that I need to clear. Shobs666 I will try your way tomorrow and see if it works.

smokersteve- I have a 2006 R350 and it did reset. Maybe one of the brake sensors has a poor connection. Post #3 from Ikchris says a reset isn't requried on the error message, that's all I can think of. The attachment info. I have used for all the Service resets for A.B.C.etc. Steve

i got this brake wear light on one year ago since i hit a pit on road whe i drove. there was a considerable impact thus caused this light on, in fact, brake pad were never worn out. i think it should.be the coonection issue due to the impact on front left wheel during driving. i went to 2 MB dealer, first one did not find any issue, just advised me to leave it there as it does.not pise any danger, 2nd dealer did a thourough check and advised me.that."the brake booster needs to be replaced". Hard to believe it has anything to do with booster? If it is just wrong warning light, i just need to clear this off. Any clues? thanks!

there is no driver manual clearing of this light. What sort of troubleshooting was done? it is an easy connection to verify front and rear. You can even short out the wires to over ride the simple sensor,

Follow the wires back to any module.

I think it was just a connection issue due to the impact force. But one of the MB dealer inspected and told me that "the brake booster needs to be replaced" with cost estimate at $ 2,000. Does the "brake wear warning" has anything to do with "brake booster"? I doubted. The brake pad is far from being worn out.

Looking at the electrical diagram, the brake wear sensors plug into the front Sam module... Nothing to do with the brake booster. Have you checked all the wiring. There are intermediate connections in between. have you shorted out the sensors as I have suggested? check all the wiring?
