R Owners - What's your year/mileage?

No, it's no collector's item. Just what happens when you find a car that was owned by older individuals, that had the means to pay cash for it initially.
Not use it as a primary vehicle, pass away and not have any other family interested enough to pick it up.
I guess I was in the right time and space to get a seemingly good deal. Well, I suppose that sort of remains to be seen, no?

I have a little over 66,000 on a 2009 R320 diesel. I had the oil leak problem which I had fixed. This the most comfortable, spacious, and enjoyable car to drive that I have ever owned. I consider it MB best kept secret. I think the diesel engine is good for 200K miles and I plan to keep it that long.

2008 CDI with 110k miles, bought at 60k and only one shock and two air bags to repair so far in 3 years. Seen several for sale with over 200k miles now...a 2011 and a couple of 2007s (I only pay attention to the diesels). They are built to go the distance, just up to you to put up with the maintenance and repairs, the paint and body holds up very well.

have had three major service calls. glad I have an extended warranty
1st trip to Mercedes $12,786
2nd trip to Mercedes $6,100
3rd trip to Mercedes $11,540
yikes this car is garbage. warranty over in a year and a half - this truck is gone in a year.

Would you care to elaborate on the repairs needed? I've never heard of any individual repair costs like those, even at the dealer.

2006 R350 with 149,000 miles.
Had the balance shaft issue at 120k and dealer fixed it for free. Replaced both back air struts (one leaked, another got blown on a pothole). Nothing else major... runs great. It is the very best road trip car!

Current plans are to keep it until at least 150k miles. I really think that by 2010 they had all of the problems worked out.

2006 R350 94k miles. Replaced rear suspension airbags and front brake rotors. Rest are regular maintenance items. Now anticipating the dreaded camshaft problem (touch wood) and crankshaft position sensor replacement.

2006 R350 102K miles purchased a year ago. Had the thermostat replaced that activated the CEL. I was having a low heat issue, vehicle took a long time to warm up. Mechanic advised the extreme cold we had here in Chicago could have been the culprit. Other than that, no problems.

2006 R350 95,000 miles
(155,000 Kms since it's Canadian). Biggest fix was a new intake manifold (old one leaked). On it's second transmission battery (most know it has 2 batteries). Best car I've owned (but you have to maintain it). Runs like the day it was new (solid and quiet and comfortable).

2006 R500 - 113k miles... bought about 2 months ago... also bought a 5yr/60k mile warranty to go with it and haven't even hit the 1k mile exclusion yet to trigger it !
Family loves the car and looking forward to some road trips coming up over summer.
